Spot on.

As an aside, I had an R33 many moons ago. I'd say the Nob reminded me more of that, crossed with an Elise.
Naz you live in a Land of Speed bumps and cattle grids, out in the country the GTR comes alive, why not drop all your cars off here and we can test them in the sticks ;-)

There is no getting away from the fact that a GTR is probably one of the fastest Road cars money can buy and without doubt would give a 10 year Noble on the road a pretty hard time , it's a great reflection on the Noble that people even compare them together .
On track it's a different story and in the wet again the GTR will run a hide but give us a dry track with a bit of tyre temp and a modified Noble will leave the GTR in its dust and keep lapping long after the GTR's front brakes and tyres have given up and gone home biggrin

Tux
Tux is right at 10 years the Noble has worn very well indeed, maybe that's it both the Noble and I are 10 years older than when we first met! I need creature comforts a my age !

Off course Naz I am also talking about a very tricked up GTR, Wheels and Tyres Package, Suspension, Brakes, Anti Roll Bars, ECU, Exhaust,Gearbox Software so somewhat different to a standard GTR, Aero Package so pretty much a Nismo really!

Hey Juno mate that comment from the start of the thread looks very familiar lol ; )

Yes peeps that was me that stated that it's just as fun and I'll stick by that. I adored the noble for 3 years and loved the nobility factor and being part of the social side. Best of all meeting Matt and Dave at the beginning of jet stream Motorsport. The GTR is a massive barge and you would think they are poles apart when it comes to fun etc but nothing could be further from the thruth. Well that's the case for me anyway.

Ok so mines not standard but she really does give me the biggest grin and is rarely going straight lol. Got to say that was my biggest surprise when I bought her. The rear end really likes to move around and having that gearbox to short shift whilst sliding (Yeah I know bad habit) is a lot of fun.

Anyways, love them both. Hope all I know on here are well and still enjoying their motors. Hopefully I can catch up with some of you during the various ph meets through out this year.

Understand it's great as a road car and capable on track, I drove a 620bhp 2013 car on country roads and used launch control etc. very clever machine and drove well even if a little wooden in the corners but after I got out, I felt nothing for it.

I've been up against a dozen of these on track (yes my car is beyond a road going Noble) but big horsepower 700bhp cars couldn't stay with me on 500bhp, if you could get one down to 1200kg it would be a serious weapon though.

Fair point fella. They aren't for every one and that's what makes life so good, variety. If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place ; )

Juno, yes mate they do slide and at relatively slow speed too ; ) if your part of the R35 group on fb you may see a certain fat Datsun doing a few kick outs ; )

Yes 1200kg would be nice, think we are there but it's going to cost a fortune !

The upgraded suspension takes the coldness away for sure, big difference

Sounds like the racelogic traction control system would work wonders on some of the bigger power Nobles

this is one of my favorite cars -

then this when he finds out it is running only half boost !

there are few with bigger power than mine, and whilst I have traction control built into the ECU and activated, I haven't set it up yet as it simply doesn't need it if the track is dry.... GTO600 has found exactly the same.... I've never found the car was faster on low boost than high.

Ive been on track in a 750bhp GTR, it was close to being to as fast in a straight line as my noble when mine was 600bhp (wasn't quite thought), but my noble would have left it on track.... so the GTR's must be the most painfully slow cars on track imaginable, can you confirm Juno?
wink

BTW I love the GTR, they are genuine monsters imo,

The question is, has Juno actually owned a car long enough to get to know it, or does he buy them just so he can come on here and tell us how much better they are than Nobles?

How long did you own your latest 3R? Seems like it's been about 2 months.

Yes you are spot on Andy, GTR's Nobles etc are all painfully slow on track and generally act as mobile chicanes for quicker cars. I wouldn't be seen near a track with my GTR, its a road car. If you want to go quick around a track then I prefer to do it without compromise in a race car for the real thrill and experience?

Chappers you should have been Quicker if you wanted to buy it, too late now you will have to wait biggrin

So to answer you question I have spent about 4 years as an actual Noble owner over the 3 cars I have owned!

Barry, I kind of agree with your earlier comment that you can't just get in it and expect to drive as quick as you want. It will kick its arse out at any opportunity, and if you don't know how to deal with that, it's going to be a big moment.

However, if you let it do its thing, you'll be fine. But therein lies the problem. You are pretty much a passenger, not really knowing when to input and when not to. In the end, you let it do its thing, arse out or not, revel at its pace, and yawn in the process.

As far as drifting goes, it's not a natural drift machine. Too heavy and 4 WD. There are far better cars to drift in.

Owned a gtr for 6 months and was deeply impressed. However, it lacks the sense of occasion of strapping yourself into a noble for me and was only really fun from about 8 tenths (that's 8 of my tenths so maybe about six of someone who can actually drive). Potter around and you could be in a golf which is not what I wanted from a weekend toy. As a daily, however, it would be epic. Noble fun before you even start the engine. Don't care which is faster around the sausage ring.

Yep Noble is always a special place to sit and be, I love them that's why I've had three so far biggrin

Was that two laps of the Sausage Ring ?
