The noise is our under tray dragging on the ground. You can also see our pit crew member holding me back from leaving and the marshals never spotted him. I wave at him at the end of the pit straight, then got passed him as quickly as I could as this is a fast section of track (paddock hill bend) with 25 car within a one mile track, the chance of an incident involving them could've been high, luckily for all we slowed down and were called to box within seconds for this plank getting onto the track.
Kevin, it would seem that the guy at the entrance to the paddocks had gone to the toilet, so these fools were able to drive straight in. When my wife and family arrived earlier they were quizzed as to what they were doing and with what team. This was, however more todo with parking space than safety.
They have arrested the lad on false imprisonment of the girl. On the basis that the girl would seem to have three brain cells, two of which are used to keep her eyes open, they have little chance of making that stick!!

Bloody lunatic, seriously dangerous given the speed difference of any race car and everyday road car, let alone with his stupidity factored in to the equation. My dad once told of how after a British GP in the early 80s at Silverstone he managed to get on to the track post race in his M535i, however he only made it to Stowe before they got the barriers out across the track.
