Recently had my gto 3 back from service and they said my turbos are hissing at different times & they need synchronising.
As far as i'm aware they have always been like it & it came back from Jetsream last year with no mention of it.
The car drives fine btw.
Can anyone help.

They're stepped or phased if you prefer - as in when full they expell air one after t'other. I've never know them to work in perfect synch. Maybe the mechnic is thinking of something else.

its normal , and there is now way to syc them up !!

There's the perfect reason to continue using jet stream for ur service they understand the cars.

Isn't this purely because the pipe work is at different lengths?

Just to entertain the thought for a little longer...

Wastegate spring rate and preload will be marginally different so there's a slim chance that one wastegate could open too early.
With some messing about it might just be possible to get them to open at the same time, but then as has been mentioned, there are different pipe lengths to contend with.

Yes, you need to have relatively equal wastegate preloading, but as mentioned many more factors come into it that that. The only way to actually fully balance a pair of turbos is to move to non common plenums and "cross feed" them (ie on a V6, turbo on RH exh manifold feeds LH banks plenum and vise versa) and even then you end up with heterodyning and other harmonic effects.

I eliminated this totally... by changing to a single turbo lol

A noble with the engine in stock configuration will always be out of synch to a certain extent as everything is different lengths for each turbo bank.... However to be fair this becomes more apparent on higher modified cars and higher boost.

Did they mention your gastric band or head gusset needing replacing?

I agree with steve, i moved mine to the bulkhead to get the old 2.5 sound back :-)

Im more interested in which Noble agent said this.

To be fair I had a symptom where by on full boost it would fluctuate up and down a few psi, this was after a new actuator. Felt like they were out of sync. Was sorted with an adjustment when I took it back the next day. This was a place that made the engines, had a similar name to Lee ;-)

Nothing to do with the hiss when you back off the throttle though I agree the pipe length will make it so. I can play a tune with mine though!

Filters on bulkhead for me too. More boost Darth? Yes please.

I'd still enquire as to how they would tackle "the problem" and how much it would cost you,
You never know they might be the innovators of some new technology hehe on the other hand you might "out" a scamming garage and help prevent others losing their hard earned to a possibly suspect business.
