I pulled into a petrol station today. As I switched off the ignition, the horn came on constant. I turned the ignition back on and the horn stopped. I then switched it off immediately and it was fine.

I've driven the car a couple of times since then and it's been fine.

I don't believe in magic so something made it happen. I just can't imagine what there is in the ignition switch that would make this happen.

The horn is operating fine using the steering wheel buttons.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Hmmm, getting the horn for no reason!

I would suggest some stuck relay contacts, when the ignition switch was turned off the back EMF had nowhere else to go to get to earth.

That sounds very logical - thank you Adrian. I'll investigate ...
