Hi guys
While cleaning the car yesterday, I noticed a large gap between the
top of intercooler and the clam.
Now im no expert but it would seem to me that a lot of air that should be
going into the intercooler is going over the top and going into the rear of the clam.
Has anybody blocked this gap of and seen any benefits i.e lower intake temps.
Going to get some thick foam and block up every gap.
surely cant do any harm in trying.

Mine has some foam (badly) bonded to the clam, not sure if it's factory fitted or not

That would make sense.
Cant remember mine ever having any.
Also iv noticed that the rubber gasket that is on the top of the
intercooler surround box really does not seal properly against the clam.
Think I need to sort this out.

Mine now has foam on the IC, same as the rad up front. It's pretty ugly but serves a purpose. I would take a couple of pics but it's tucked away at Bespoke.

The foam I used had an adhesive backing so you just peel off the plastic and stick it on. It's a closed cell foam, cut to size but doesn't 'give' much so ideally I'd have bought something a little thinner rather than rest the clams on it and wait a week for it to compress enough for me to be able to shut them haha!

this is one of those small things that add up to a huge difference.... I spend quite some time making the rear clam and intercooler box seal fully to the intercooler when the clam was shut... thus ALL the air goes through the intercooler rather than bypassing it.
