Hi chaps,
The original SONY speakers in my car are a little weak. I prefer the engine and induction noise but never the less does anyone know of any decent speakers?

I'd like more bass and some clearer treble. The head unit seems pretty decent so I don't want to upgrade this. I don't want to fit an amp or sub just a simple speaker upgrade.

Thanks

Adrian W

JL co-axials

very efficient so need very little driving, killing the doors with strips of Dynamat will make a big difference by eliminating distortion.

Bose components, they have just brought out a great set of tweeters and a midrange that pair together, there slim so no probs in the door, heard them in a Civic type R, typical, but they sound amazing, need a good amp to drive them, and some sound packing behind them,
Believe or not the sony head unit is not so bad with the right equipment, it has a dedicated sub woofer control, and works great with an amp.

I would definately try Dynamat in the doors Jed as it would make a difference. Just imagine what mine are like, at least with your 3r they added some sound proofing ;-)

I used MB quart, fit flush so did require cutting but look and sound fantastic with no amp....

I think the point is to spend a couple of hundred and make sure they will fit and you will get a good set as its a very competitive market so crappy speaks are cheap and good ones are all comparably priced IMO.
