£600 from Tyreleader at the moment for a full set in our size.
Seems cheap to me. Just saying in case anyone's thinking of changing.
Of course you need to bung £50 to your friendly fitter on top.

Thanks for letting us know, I've just ordered a set.
It does seem cheap and correct sizes. I'll believe it when I see them. The set I recently bought from Tyreleader for my van were dearer than these bizarelly!

Ignore - it appears that rears are "Out of Stock". Just had the order for the rears cancelled (probably because they now realise that they're priced £100 too cheaply). And now I need to cancel the portion of the order for the fronts. Ho hum.

I await my email from them, just checked nothing appeared as yet. Thought it was to goo to be true, I wasn't aware our sizes were available.

As far as I'm concerned if they are available & they've stated at the specified price on their site that is the cost. Got the order confirmation early this morning to be delivered by DPD with a tracking number.

The fronts have already been dispatched apparently. I think I'll take delivery and fit them for now at least, as my R888s are extremely worn. Then get hold of a pair of rears as and when I can. MyTyres also list them, but I won't order without verbal confirmation.

Front Cup 2s arrived and fitted. Rears - well when the first arrive I'll believe it.

However first impression of the Cup 2s are they look more like a normal road tyre than a track tyre. 3 consistent groves around the circumference. Maybe a perfect all-round for track and road? Or great for wet & dry?

Anyone tracked a full set already and have any opinions?

P.S. I have standard GTO wheels for my track rims. How do you balance the tyres? Can't get the centre blanks out to mount on a balancing machine!

Is there much change between the Cup 2's and the original Cups? Do they still come with 4.5mm tread depth?

I've been talking to Michelin this week as it would seem the cup 2 is a big improvement in the wet over the old cup and probably better as a more universal road / track tyre . As to wether it's less track focused they would not commit but advised me to buy old cups for Time Attack !!

I've received and fitted the front Cup 2s yesterday. Haven't driven on them yet, as they're on my spare rims.
First impression is that the tread pattern is much more similar to a road tyre. You can tell there's obviously thought gone into wet performance.
I measured the tread depth with my manual gauge at 5.5mm.
Strange that at first glance they don't look like a track tyre. Let's hope the reviews are accurate.
Just need to acquire some rears now.

Tread pattern looks the same/very similar to the original cups. Sounds like these are trying to be a more 'all round' tyre than the cup 1's then.

John,

Finally, rears have turned up from Tyreleader. Hopefully testing them soon once get car back, the test for me is minimum 2 consecutive laps of the Ring without running off.

Corsa's, Trofeo's & normal Cups would do 3 consecutive laps safely without running off.

That's great. Glad to know that they're actually available. But annoyed after reordering, mine are still in the system somewhere and have cost me an extra £40. Oh well.

Gentlemen. Has this been a success?

Can anyone share how much and where to get the full, factory fit size Cup 2's?

Hi Scooby - yes it would appear successful using www.tyreleader.co.uk
Their prices seem to vary by the minute, but I think its more down to exchange rate.
The tyres seem to be sourced overseas, mainly Germany, so i guess the price moves with exchange fluctuations. As Sterling is strong, that's why they appear cheap at the moment.

I originally ordered a full set @ £141 each for fronts and £159 for rears. However as the sizes are different, they split the order into two (I was told this is because they come from different factories). Then I got a message saying the rears were out of stock. I was a bit annoyed that I was left with an order for the fronts which I could no longer cancel, but in the end decided to settle for fronts and search elsewhere for rears. In the meantime Shaun was successful acquiring rears from them, so I decided to attempt to reorder. As of this morning, DPD tracking states that my rears are due for delivery today. However the price of the reordered rears was £177 each.

Price today seems to be £174 for rears, but they aren't listing Cup 2s for fronts in our size.
I guess their stock changes frequently so worth checking in a few days.
(Original Cups are just £121 for fronts)

I'd suggest using these guys for your stock if you don't mind being messed about, but not if you're in a hurry.
