Firstly a big thanks to Rob for sorting the deal out with Rare Rims

Received the invoice & it stated 8.5 inch for the Fronts which is a mistake their end & I think We're all going for 9 inch fronts

To save us all asking Ben at Rare Rims the same questions here is the answers to mine

"Caps will be the medium top caps, although we can supply any caps in the range assuming they'll clear your hubs, that can be up to you".

Has anyone seen these on a noble (did Google & couldn't find anything) & any ides if the flat caps will clear the hubs?

"The touch up paint should be good if sealed for 6 months or more I would think.
Locking nuts I can do for £6 for a set. Touch up paint with lacquer I can do for £10".

Seems Daft Not to have the extras

Cheers again Rob

What do they mean by clear the hubs?

Surely the part that protrudes into the wheel towards the hub is the same regardless of centre cap height, there pictures certainly look like its that way

I do hope they can come with black wheel nuts for low/no cost.

Can't wait.

Cheers for sorting this out Rob

I assume they mean in terms of if the hubnuts stick out etc on the Noble smile

Edit: I had a skyline running Rota Grids and couldn't run the centre caps I got with the wheels as driveshafts protruded too much for the caps smile

Yes that's what they mean, depends how much meat is left on the casting once the back of the wheel is machined to give it its correct offset & if the hubnuts are sticking out any further then they do with the standard wheels, if its the similar the flat caps should be ok.
The invoice says the wheels come with a set of 20 Black wheel nuts which is interesting as we only need 16 or 12 with locking wheel nuts

Ah right, thanks for the clarification.

Here is a photo I took of my hubs a couple of months ago if it helps show what centre caps will and won't fit.

I'd ideally like the flush ones

I think the flat/flush ones will be ok also, but think I prefer the raised ones

Thanks for clarifying Tom and Matt - to everyone else the invoices do have a minor mistake on them so once I have the replacements I'll distribute them.
You can either call to place your deposit or PayPal Rarerims on the address I'll send you with the invoice.

As stated, locking nuts and cap choices are up to you. Discuss them when you call or drop them a note with your deposit. Thanks thumbup

Any updates from Rarerims Rob on the status of the group buy?

What profile tyres are people fitting to these wheels? I'm thinking some Michelin Pilot Super Sports might be a decent tyre to fit.

Thanks

Matt

Folks, these are now made and in the process of being shipped so I'll have the estimated date of delivery to each of you very shortly - possibly this week.

Are they any good in the wet? as I have a set of A048 but they aren't really suited for the road.

225 still OK for the front? as the size of wheel is wider. Don't really want the rims proceeding past the tyre.

I haven't tried them on a Noble but had them on a TVR Cerbera, and they were ok in the wet, and simply amazing in the dry. I'm lead to believe the R's are even better which I'm yet to try!

Hello all,

Had an update from Rarerims:

Rarerims said:
These wheels are on the way, physically made and on the water.

We're waiting on the exact date to be confirmed when the container is landing at our warehouse, but roughly as it's still at sea we're talking 2 weeks.

I am sorry it's taken a little longer than originally planned, but we are now about there and the wait is almost over - when that exact date is confirmed with the shipping firm I will pass that to you as well.

If any questions crop up as a result please let me know and I will be happy to help.
I'd obviously misunderstood when I said they were in the UK a couple of weeks ago, apologies for that.

All the best,
Rob
