I just acquired a 2007 m400 Chassis #173 and am enjoying the car. There are some things to work through already on the car and I hope to get some collective wisdom from the group here.

Gorgeous! It looks to be in fantastic condition - your going to have a lot of fun in it, and admiring glances/interest when out and about.

Only 3000 ish miles. But a surprising number of things to fix up!

Nice! But my do you have a lot you need to fix after seeing all your posts!

Might be the downside of buying such a low mileage car. Not used enough.

I am sure you will get them all fixed easily. Hope you out some proper miles on it soon it will do it some good. No car like to just sit around.

Thanks Martin, that makes sense then. Couldn't tell location from OPs profile.

Indeed. A US model. But I have heard that this is one of the best repositories of knowledge about these rare cars. I will make my best attempt to avoid being a boorish American on foreign shores.

A drivability issue that I've noticed off the bat has been some lower-RPM, light throttle surging and bucking. I recall 2nd and 3rd gear occurrences. Very embarrassing. And occasionally when releasing the clutch having the engine stall. Also very embarrassing. I have heard that this may be indicative of a vacuum leak somewhere. I've never had to chase down a vacuum leak before. Any hints?

Does the car idle properly - say at around 950rpm - or occasionally sit higher? I can help with that one but not with vacuum leaks if that's the culprit. Poor fuel pump relay can cause issues also.

And well done for buying the best and fastest colour biggrin

Hoover does an ecu upgrade on the usa cars. He might have a remap for yours also
