Not too much improvement...
I'm sure they found something of typical on a old turbo engine.... wink
I'm sure this episode happen something of special.

(Mike Brewer is a funny one and the crew is a group full of special persons)

I was thinking the same thing, I feel a road trip is needed next year.

Interesting there was no mention of what power it made. I'm surprised it hit 170mph on GPS?

Good price though.

The whole remapping bit was a bit vague. I presume it came with an MBE ECU upgrade.

Was surprisingly good for wheeler dealers, thought it would have been much more cringeworthy.

Certainly not done the values of the cars any damage. So where has the car ended up? Seen rumours it got blown up after filming and things due to the map?

I wouldn't be happy with ed chopping a lump of the chassis out mind!

Cool, cool car though, one of my favourites!

Evening Gents. Quick question for you, is it standard practice to cut the chassis rather than remove the enngine? Seems a bit extreme if it is!

Its the quick option, its done sometimes. Personally i'd pay more for an engine lift out & change the clutch too at the same time

Cutting the chassis is a fairly standard solution. It saves not only for this job, but also the next.
Not that I've had it done though. Still on original clutch and mine had the track day sump as an optional extra from new.

For those of you who don't have access to Discovery Channel (like myself) - I have found this link to see the whole episode. It is literally click and play (no downloads or having to register). Beware of others, I had to fend off numerous virus's on the way to discovery.

If this car was capable of 170mph with 340/345hp (310 plus 10% increase after the remap) - what sort of top speeds are the 3 litre cars capable of? Anyone put it to the test?
