Overall a good brand boost for the M12 clap ...

Note to Edd and Mike: Its not a fekkin Mondeo engine! shoot Mentioned four times between them - who told them that? Surely not Jetstream.

Mention of a factory option electronic boost regulator - first I've heard of that and I have the original price and options list. Also, no mention that he'd need to he need to disconnect the old spring regulator.

Underside of the TDS he fitted looked better than the factory option - very nice.

also the first time i heard that the electronic boost was an option... did the original GTO ecu not have it then?

I consider it a mondeo engine... I know they sorced the engines from the states, but they then slapped mondeo cams in them taking them back to mondeo spec lol... you can tweak a mondeo engine to be exactly the same spec as a noble engine lol.

I think it was a good episode for the Marque.... he bought it for realistic money, sold it for good money and did mods we always recommend like TDS. Hell Mike even made a big deal about wanting to keep it, given the cars they have built I have heard Edd say that but can't remember Mike.

First: I'm sorry for my English...
Last turbo rebuilt have worked fine 2000 miles, after when engine is cold oil pressure is hight and at idle turbos is slow sometimes front turbo smoke. Really unhappy about this because I always warmed engine and never turned it off when too hot.

Alloy Heather box is for sale if someone interested biggrin

See my old blue hovel make me sad, in the racetrack (parabolic turning) she's beautiful!!!!

As was mentioned earlier - am also amazed at the very low level of interest in this video and related thread - both from The Nobility and visitors scratchchin

I guess it's because it's a 2.5. As sad as it sounds as they are great cars. If it was a 3R or M400 I bet it would be a different outcome.

Not sure i agree. I don't think the average TV 'petrolhead' would know the difference or even care.

If they did know the difference then surely they would know that the 2.5 has a higher probability of needing attention, which would make it a more interesting car to feature on a show with the exact intent to find problems and rectify them?

Guys - you have to remember how few cars were made, therefore how many people would have a noble on their radar. Also although the 2.5 is a bargain junior supercar, most of my petrolhead friends cannot stretch to spending 25k or more on a weekend toy (i live in the SW).
You have to know exactly what you want and why you want it in order to buy a Noble, I am very aware that most of my petrolhead friends are part time petrolheads (they waste time on things like football) and think that a 911 is the best sportscar.

I was surprised that many forum dwellers on FB & PH were expecting this show to make a difference, some even mentioned it having an effect on prices. I did not expect that at all.

I pick up my car tomorrow !!!! I cannot wait, I cannot sleep......

Nah, it shouldn't matter that its a 2.5.

I predict the fact that the video will remain in the Ether forever plus the cascade effect whereby links will be made (e.g.: to/from Clarkson's early tests, etc.) will actually bolster the marque's prices. Let's see...

Remember that - I had to wait 6 months for the Africans to do their stuff smile

I watched the programme on you tube last night, I thought it was brilliant! I'm not that spanner literate so to see the work done on the car I thought was fascinating. Probably because at the time that m12 was the cheapest then made the work viable, being Italy added a nice storey to it. Positives all round I think!

The show definitely will not detract from the value of the cars - in terms of promoting appreciation - i doubt it overnight, but it cant hurt!

Post some pics when you get the car!! smile

Watched the programme last night, I thought it showed the car in a good light.

Am I right that the original owner rebuilt the turbo's and they had to rebuild them on the show.

also the engine now is having a full rebuild, by the new owner? is that because of the higher boost they ran?

I'd like to own one someday... when I sell my other toys smile

How does one go about 'cleaning' the engine bay? Mine doesn't look the best - chassis members untidy and the heat wrap peeling. But short of the engine-out and a long process of re-painting the chassis and general cleaning of parts, I don't know how to dress it up. Maybe by taking off the clam, exhaust, intercooler box, inner arches and hard pipes I'd have some access to make cosmetic improvements. But whilst it's all running fine under there, I don't want to waste effort fettling. Same under the front clam.

Hi John, I pulled mine apart last year over the winter and cleaned and fettled the front and back chassis, changed the tubes, repainted the access panels, replaced the rubber trims, refurbished and painted the diffuser, replaced the heat shield materials etc. - happy to share where everything came from, it was cheap, easy and very therapeutic... mine is still at Jetstream but as you are just down the road we could catch up?

Hi Steve, It would be great to get some practical advice. I guess I'm handy enough with a spanner, I'm just not sure of the best products to source and use for what bits. I've even got a length of exhaust heat wrap waiting to cover the front downpipe as the original material has disintegrated, but I fear without a ramp I'm doomed!
Sorry to hear your car's at Jetstream - is it the gearbox again? I had a scare at Silverstone recently when I couldn't locate 5th gear (6 speed). However it only happened on a couple of laps and seems fine now, so I don't think the gear is broken. I'm guessing that the cables are just settling in following the Jetstream linkage upgrade.

Had a few calls from non Noble owning petrol head mates all very positive .I don't think that programme will do any harm to the brand /values at all.
