Sorry guys I've been removed. Didn't know that you can't talk about wanting a car. I was just after advice on buying one and picking all your brains. Now what do I do?

You certainly can talk about wanting a car and asking advice, I'm guessing you made it look too much like a 'Wanted' advert?

anyhow, what was you wanting to know.... what spec to look for? differences between models? mods to look out for?

it might have been the mention of a car that was for sale on another site.
You're in the right place for advice though.

All of them were pretty good from the factory really. Depends on budget and spec, and people have different opinions of what's important.

I'll stick my neck out...(for 'non modified' cars)

6 speed is pref to the 5. All 6 came with LSD and it's a stronger box.
The track day sump prevents (reduces) oil starvation under heady cornering.
The 3 and the 3R have the same power- the 2.5 having less.
Original rads can crack so a good upgrade is the pro-alloy one.

After that there are upgrades/improvements. If you have a car in mind then someone here will probably know something about it.

Thanks guys. Yes someone on here said about another site to look at a car. Yes was after a 03/04 car. So that's the 6 speed box. Was just asking is it better to buy private or from a dealer so you get 6 months warranty? Been snooping on here for a long time and it's a wonderful place for information on these cars. Will be able to purchase in about 4 weeks because my garage will be finally finished. Is there someone that you can send to look at a private car like they do on the TVR site? Don't think I will track the car but you never know. Been given a great insurance quote but the insist on a group 6 tracker.

If there's one in the southeast/kent I'll happily come along and look it over. Sure there will be people in other areas who would do the same.
Contact Jetstream as they can probably help you out are are well respected.

we can guide you on insurance, no need for a tracker (unless you are young).

There are a few cars around for sale, some advertised and 1 or 2 that are not advertised, but are for sale at the right price.
Do you want standard ? modified ? budget ? location ?

Cheers again guys. Was thinking about looking at a couple. TVI7 and AC03GTO. Not been in contact with either owners yet. TVI7 has caught my eye but checked the mot history and it looks like it is neglected but I could be wrong. It looks like there is overspray on engine? Also not changed oil breather. What you guys think?

Apologies, it may have been me who posted the mention - only a mention though - of a Noble being advertised on... Aghhhhhhhh - a big punch glove just exited my screen and biffed me hard!

I don't understand the rules though. Check this current thread out - see Bacchus's posting on Monday about an F355 for sale scratchchin

AC03GTO looks nice, similar to mine. Price is about right in my opinion. Its a very original car, a few bits will want changing in my opinion, but a lovely base from which to enjoy the ownership.

Could not find TV17 ????

Stumbled accross it today. Interesting colour combo, seems very original - oil breather & header tank are original yet he's spent £800 on an intercooler and mapped it.

Either of those cars are a nice original car, couple of improvements to do when you want to.
