Hi everyone,

I am planning to have my wheels powdercoated.
Problem is that the center cap is made of plastic and won't stand the heat.
If I have the wheel powdercoated and the center cap painted then colour differences will occur very likely.

My paint shop recommended to have the caps reproduced in aluminium.
Two knowledgeable people I have spoken to said that an exact reproduction will be very difficult and costy.

Has anyone ever done this before?
Maybe someone has CAD data of the cap available (which would ease things enormously)?

Thanks, Leo

I would be interested in a set as 2 of mine are cracked!

Hi,

Does this mean that you would join a group buy for a whole set should I find a way to get them done at a reasonable price?
I hear they crack quite often, so an aluminium made cap should solve that forever.

Again, for the moment I don't have the solution at hand, but maybe someone here will shed some light.

Hi Leo,
Yes I would be up for a group buy at sensible cost!

Ok, cool. Let's see whether more people join.
I am awaiting an offer for fabrication next week.
