I'm not a turbo expert, but I'm sure its not supposed to have cracks in it like this - it looks pretty terminal to me!

Am I right in thinking T25's are obsolete? What are the options?

Any help appreciated

Shem to universal turbos, they will either fix or recommend replacement. If you know they must be replaced, ask Jetstream or Simon Roberts what works for your state of tune

That can be welded and the seat reground, but it's not cheap.

The car's going to Jetstream soon to get a shiny pair of manifolds, new discs, and an "anti-porridge stirring" gear linkage. I guess I'll have to add new turbo to the list!!

All assuming of course the head gasket the MOT garage suggested was gone, isn't. If that's the case...........

Had the same kind of problem a couple of months ago.
Although mine were not that badly cracked.

Thanks for the info & link to the thread.

The M400 has T28's, the 2.5 (ie mine) has T25's. Doeas anyone know if there is a direct (or even indirect) replacement for these? Would be good to know as I'm about to get new manifolds and (possibly) a new exhaust system and it would be good to incorporate any changes required into the new system from scratch

2.5 has a hybrid. It's half T25 and half T2.
I have a couple in my spares box.
Universal turbos can sort some for you. Or better still upgrade. But that's a slippery slope.

If they need replacing then it's time for an upgrade GT25s is where you need to go for a 2.5. I'm still not sure where to go for the GT2554 or GT2559. When I come round to it I shall seek Jetstream and universal help.

Your looking at about 2k inc Vat for turbos then fitting and a remap will be required

The car's at Jetstream now so we'll see what's what next week. We already know that the manifolds will need replacing, so here's the dilemma. Do I go for reliability, keep the power to sub-400 and put 2.5L manifolds on it and stick with T25's, or go for potential of bigger power and fit 3.0L Manifolds / uprated turbos / 3.0L exhaust with the risk that reliability might suffer (particularly the gearbox, I think).

I keep flip-flopping from one to the other........HELP!!!!

OK, decision made - New turbos!

I've gone for upgraded T25 ball bearing turbos, but now need a 3.0L exhaust system to strap onto them. Has anyone got one lurking in a cuboard/shed/loft or know of one for sale anywhere?

We still have an old 3.0L exhaust after upgrading to a Hayward and Scott.

Have sent a PM!
