Just to point out that having spent 5 years working for a company called "Leather Master" I think I could say that I am now a bit of a Leather (Jedi) Master.

Quickly,

Magnolia is the worst colour to show wear, the grain is where dirt sits and it shows far more on lighter leather. (like the lines on your palms do)

Leather is a "living" product and still has lost of fatty Lipids in it. When its tanned and "corrected" before use, there is a thin polyeurathene top coat put onto it. In first use this skin breaks and starts to breathe. Its important (some folks dissagreee with this) to "feed" leather with a cream that puts in more oils and lipids. You can buy "protection" cream from furniture shops or even Tesco I think and it should be applied to wear areas or all over the seats about every 4-6 months.

Its a common misconception that leather furniture wears better than fabric (alcantara). You need to clean and protect leather in just the same way as you do fabric.

Just imagine how your bolsters might look if Lee had gone the 1980's ford route there too and picked a fiesta cloth like a 60 tablecloth!! They would get worn rather quickly too.

Its not a massive job for an upholstery company to either fit bolster protectors or even to fully recover the seats.

Here endeth the lesson.
