We want them to be right and taking the time now will result in a better product in the end. Please bear with us a little longer.
Trevor, I had to laugh reading the above as it's the Noble factory line on the M14 launch - verbatim
Well thats okay about the delay cause I am still waiting for some new manifolds to bolt a new exhaust onto anyway
I assume one could bolt in extra silencers into the end of the tail pipes if required in this ever quitening world of trackdays....?
For the earlier posting about diameters, the pipework is as per original 2.5 inches OD. This is due to space restrictions around the sump/oil filter/chassis area - any bigger and it becomes difficult to get the pipework installed in the first place plus change the oil filter.
As for ceramic coating, it is certainly an option. I'll look into the costs. How far back from the turbo do people want to have coated?
Replacing the current factory exhaust wrap, as someone else questioned, is also another option. We can supply the exhaust wrap with the system, if necessary.
I'm inspecting the production systems on Tuesday, and I'll post on the status then.

All,
Drove the prototype new exhaust yesterday and again today. Sounds good. My impression is that it's quieter than the standard for idle, cruising (up to and beyond legal motorway speeds) and general driving. However, at full throttle from 3k and up, the sound moves into a deep throaty roar that's nice but not intrusive. There were no booms anywhere.
There is still some further testing to be done and I had a 5hr meeting with the suppliers yesterday to go through in detail the production and trial the system on a second car. Unfortunately, that highlighted an issue which has delayed production by a few days, and we're now looking at having the first batch completed by 17th March.
The changes to the system to incorporate cat-replacement pipes - for those of you that track your car, the cat-replacememnt pipes will stop you degrading the cats, provide a small noise increase, and perhaps a slight performance increase (that's part of the dyno testing).
I was lucky enough to dyno test the system today - the dyno people managed to get me in quickly when another car had problems. Unfortunately, I can't give a definitive back-to-back versus the standard system because Mark's car had a front cat that had come dislodged and had started to block the flow, so that makes a comparison useless. A second (3R) car (thanks Andy!) showed good power and torque, and against that we have a modest (25bhp, 20lbft) increase in both power and torque. However, whilst checking the fuel pressure, in line with something we would normally do and also suggested by Jools, we noticed the fuel pressure was dropping during the power run. I believe we have a solution to this but will have to confirm tomorrow and Friday on the rollers. Whilst the pressure drop is not massive, it does have a slight effect (shifted half an afr or so) on the fuelling which, whilst not unsafe for the engine, is something I'm not that comfortable with right now.
Meanwhile, the revised pricing is now £1500 +VaT including the cat-replacement pipes which are a straight bolt-in replacement for the cats. You could order your exhaust without those, in which case the cost is £1400 plus VaT.
Sorry this has taken longer than first announced, and cost more, but the benefits for the longevity of the exhaust and better quality across all cars.
More news to follow at the end of the week, hopefully.

No probs Trevor, just glad to hear the cars running again after the battery agro! Let me know if you think you'll need the car for a bit longer than you said, i'm sure it wont be a problem if you do.

Does this price include new Cats? the current ones are welded in are they not - or are they modified and then re-used? Plus how difficult will it be to change the front cat?
I'll have some pics of the layout of the exhaust soon. The price includes brand-new low-backpressure cats - the original ones are not cut out and re-used.
For the cat-replacement pipes, they are bolt-in replacement items, and the front cat is relatively easy to change - three bolts to the system and five bolts to the turbo outlet, plus the hego sensor. It'll all be more apparent when I have some better pics.

Looks like I'd better post a list for the first ten production parts:-
1) Ash M400
2) gizard
3) l6nex
4) ......
ThatPhilBrettGuy, washy and robp - are you interested?
AMG Merc, chillidog, silversix and V6GTO, you too?
Anyone from over the pond?
Feel free to add to the list / email me through my profile....
Perhaps I should have ordered 20off?
