Hmm - interesting - but I've found the 180 trick means that any fuel in the pipe doesn't splash at all and goes in for free - LOL!

Mind you - the paper towels for stopping splashbacks is prob. a good idea.

Also watch out for the nozzle/hose twisting round and damaging the paintwork of the "shoulder" the filler sits behind...

Agreed. Lee was telling me that for months he couldn't work out why the press cars kept on coming back with chunks taken out of the "butresses" - he then worked out it was the petrol hose rubbing against it. As it's GRP the paint doesn't "stick" as well as with metal cars and it's quite easy to chip off.

Me - I always hold the hose and the gun, one in each hand, and always pull up nearside to the pump so the hose doesn't have to be pulled out any further.
