That's interesting. In my 3 litre at Bedford, I was pulling 145mph on the straight, which is about 1km long, and still going strong...

Autocar's review of the gto3 seemed to think 170 and it was still pulling? Don't know which runway though (or more importantly how long)

It was still going at the 161, just that the additional mph's were coming rather slowly - sort of like counting normally up in ones - trouble is that at 140+ one second is a lot of meters!

It was at around 140 on the clock by the end of the uphill section (the track goes half up then half down).

Joust/Nildram,

Any of these reported speeds clocked using GPS? If so, how accurate is the speedo?

Yep - mine where all clocked with the Road Angel GPS and the light beam timing at Bruntingthorpe.

GPS was about 1mph out on the light beam, and speedo was about 5% too high.
