Has anyone seen a magazine called 'Octane'?? One of my colleagues was reading it over someones shoulder, and apparently it had an article in it of Damon Hill doing a comparison of the Noble against a Mucielago.

I have looked in a big WHSmiths up here in the City and haven't found it. Did a search on the Internet, and found out it is a new publication. Anybody seen it / know where to get hold of a copy??

Got it. Read it. Nothing special. Hardly mentions the cars and is more like a PR exercise for Damon Hill's P1 club.

One caption from it though - "On a tricky road the Lambo [Murcialago] won't live with the Noble. The
Noble is shatteringly quick and it's hyper-responsive"

I wouldn't bother buying it for the Damon Hill bit a very poorly written piece. The Ferrari Bizzerrini story was interesting though.

Octane was discussed in the general gassing section last week sometime, you may want to have a look for that

Picked a copy up from WHSmith in Kensington High Street yesterday, I would guess at the time they had about 6 copies left. It appears to be devoted more to classic cars, the people involved and the scene related to such people. For instance there's an article inside written by Nick Foulkes about his trip to Havana, Cuba to report on cigars. Overall its not really a direct competitor for EVO, but there are some good articles inside, pity that there weren't more shots of the blue Miura SV.

It's produced by the same company as Classic Car mag....

All the adverts in the back are identical!

I bought it too and found it lacking in depth on the car side of things. It's a mag for rich old duffers that are into classic cars and boats / cigars etc. I'd say it was a lifestyle mag for the older gent. Your grandpa's FHM, if you like, lol.
