Would YOU drive a Cat 'D' registered????

Ideally you want photos and description of the before damage and then details of what was fixed and by whom. These things matter!
maybe found another that will PX my scoob, it also covers all the above. so much so that the repairers have worked on the other halfs car so could/will have a chat with them about it, now just to see what deal can be done.. I was tempted to go down this route ( I fancied a m400 for 3r money).
I spoke to a few dealers asking at what price would they buy a Cat D. All the established dealers said wouldn't be interested.
You also have to find someone that will insure it , and give you an agreed value. If you have a total loss , the Ins Co will go to the dealer market and ask its value , and you know it will be nowhere near what you might have paid for it. Much hassle trying to get your money back ensuses..
I had a cat D daily driver a few years back , and not having agreed value wasn't an issue , but it was still hassle getting someone to insure it.
So if at some point you do need to sell , you are going to need to persuade another private seller that it was fixed properly. Unless it was done by the factory , or a authorised dealer , you are going to struggle ( unless you have much supporting evidence - photos , invoices , etc).
If you have to persuade your self that the car is o.k, (value , or safety wise )Don't buy it , unless you are prepared to keep it for life , or can afford write off most of the money.
These cars are like collectors items now , and provenance seems to be all when it comes to values.
I could be talking B0llox again , but this was my experience for what it's worth ...

She has thoughts about the saftey issues which does concern me kinda, BUT the car has pics of all the damage just before repair, shows basically surface damage cracked front clam, broken rear (passenger side rear by the light broken off) and exhaust damaged, BUT still drove fine with NO suspension/chassis or wheel damage. IF i get somewhere with a few dealers about taking mine in maybe Obes car could be on the drive..

Obes one has to be the best buy out there other than Ash's. Obviously different budget areas.

still no joy with the dealer that was interested in taking mine tho.. Might have to take drastic measures and see if the money can come from elsewhere!!
be careful mate, there are plenty of noble's about that have been smashed and then repaired without being HPI registered as Cat D or C. Worth just getting a decent inspection done on the car before you buy it, by someone who know's them inside out (JNM) just incase it has been in a smash and been botched up.
