Lots of jumping the gun here. The future for Noble cars is still very bright and I've heard nothing whatsoever about the company shutting etc. Hopefully it will be a return to form for Noble Cars: the new car is on its way. New bloke (supposedly someone quite switched on) will be running things there and hopefully the parts/service department will be re-vamped.
As odd as it sounds, Noble Cars is NOT all about Lee Noble (brilliant designer though he is). There are some very talented chaps there who have had little credit for their contribution and who are more than capable of taking the company forward.

No definately not! I've been following the Noble story for a few years now via a friend who knows whats going on inside the factory and I've been continually stunned by the stories I've heard. I'm concerned that I don't cause trouble for him, which is why I'm being a bit coy about certain things. I'm sure everything will be made public shortly.

I'm flattered that you all think I speak for the factory and/or Lee Noble. Unfortunatly I don't.
But you usually know whats happening!

Are we to assume there is truth in the rumour/story

Yeh! BRIGHT,very BRIGHTt,is a black hole BRIGHT.Glad I got my deposit back.Has anyone else asked for their deposit back recently and what is the current answer.

I would not want to be a dealer with lots of expensive low mileage cars at the moment, that must be a worry.

Must make the Ultima a good option at the moment?

Lee is no longer a director of Noble Automotive Limited as of 5 Feb 2008 . A new secretary has been appointed but no 288b for Mrs N filed as yet.

Oh and if true I don't want to £20, just knowing will be enough.
I seem to remember you posting this....

Lets keep this friendly banter level - £20 says within 2 years they will see going head to head with Ferrari doesn't make for a good P&L and go back to a M12 money product and the structure of Noble changes.
No sign of a "M12 money product" as far as I can see smile

Err quite...and your point is?

Hey for the enthusiast and for the people with hard currency stuck into this I suppose it isn't a time to get smug over a £20 bet - however given its you and all those times I've had to endure the "you know jack, etc, etc"......

I think Lee Noble's commercial future best lies in writing a book on his experiences.

The new car (if and when it appears) will need to be priced very attractively, for not many folks will stump up £80k+ on what has become a very rocky story over the last few years. Personally, I think the golden years of Noble Car co will remain 2002-2005 and when Simon Hucknall was posting here. Pity how things have turned out, as the M12 is/was a great car. A real balls-up since then.

In saying all that, if the new car is c. 600bhp and 1200kgs, will be interesting. How many have orders here?

Those were the days. We were spoilt then. I just hope Noble can go on from this 2 year void and get right back up there where it belongs.

It will take a huge effort to attract the new model buyers. I think it will take

1. Actual factory back up to owners, new and old again (like we had) from such a small manufacturer.
2. Factory supplied spares again.
3. Help at the end of the phone.
4. Micknall !

I think that it is sad that Lee has left Noble, but to be honest i am not surprised. Lee is a talented chassis designer... in fact an amazing one. However just because one can do 1 element doesn't mean that automatically he can do all aspects. This was always the difficulty with Lee. Also how many of you have worked with development people? sometimes commercial pressures, such as 'how much does this cost' spoilt the end result of just how good you could make something. However no one can sustain any business like this.

I have always said that Lee's ideal role is with a race team, here he would be perfectly suited. he could always tinker with the car, trying to make it better and better and compete with the best of them. Designing a road car to compete with serious cars such as Aston's, Ferrari's even Audi... never going to happen. It is pure economics people, work out the figures.

I do however wish lee all the best in the future, i hoped that it would have worked out for him this time. We had our ups and down but i do not wish him or his family ill

I will be interested to see what this does to the brand... As previously stated Lee was not the only person there - but in a lot of peoples eyes he was - so with him gone what will future buyers be baseing their decisions on?

Then again if they don't hurry up and release something I can imagine this might be rather damaging, which would be a shame becasue a lot of hype has surrounded the new car but no one seems to know for sure what it will be like.

Despite the moans, groans and general criticism of some of Lee's less attractive attributes (i'm in my diplomatic mood today smile), i think there is not one person on this forum that wishes anything but all the best for Lee and his family.

Let's face it - Nobles are cracking driver's cars, and we love them. Most of the time....

Of course no one wishes Lee ill however one does wonder how this has turned the way it has.

In past months when anyone has ever put their head up and err'd on the side of caution then that has usually met with anger from "those in the know" - so what's gone wrong?

Why should a "what's gone wrong" request lead to this response?
