I've got a deposit in already too, but now concerned they are demanding spec on the order now. No delivery until mid next year so whats that about!?!
Also the satnav is delayed by 6 months and is costing a fortune. Not very happy as cars without it are going to get hammered I suspect.
Anyway got to call my dealer to discuss. I'm 12th on their list.
Forgot to say black editions is black smoked alloys and some interior trim bits... Nothing to do with paint I was told.

I looked into this as well, they want too much commitment from the off. sat-nav £2000.00 
and its not available till sept 2009, so when they do come with the nav option I think the non sat-nav vehicles will be harder to shift.
I know BMW dealers wouldn't touch an M3 without on a PX.

Mate - I'm about to drop out for the same reasons. Just spoke to the dealer and no longer is it Nov spec and deposit becoming firm, apparently its April although he got cagey and said he'd have to check. and its not available till sept 2009, so when they do come with the nav option I think the non sat-nav vehicles will be harder to shift. However I'm not paying 3.5k now for a car with no delivery date except its over a year away, no sat nav for 6 months and a supply of 500 a year. I could walk off the street and buy one next year with those numbers.
Sat nav price is a joke too as machine has GPS and computer + hard disk in already with the stereo so it seems they are charging 2k for software! And they won't update the earlier cars.
So I'll be getting my 3.5k back extremely soon I expect. I bet I'm not the only one as he seemed quite upset about it!
