I don't own an RC-F - as much as I would like to - but I did have an extended drive in one recently.

I bought a Toyota GT86 which the dealer needed to borrow back from me for a day after my purchase (long story...), so they offered to give me an RC-F for the few days around the time that they would have my car from me.

My cars have got progressively faster as I've got a bit older (1.2l Corsa -> 1.6l Focus -> BMW 118d -> GT86), but aside from a drive at Mercedes-Benz World in a C63 on track I've never driven anything as quick as the Lexus. Having it for 4 days on the road was therefore absolutely incredible fun!

Despite wielding the lead-foot of a kid in a shiny, (beautiful shade of blue) V8 candy shop, I still managed an average of 23.4 over the 380 miles I put on the car, so to the owner above that got 18mpg I have to wonder what you've been doing to it! In that time I also had to put petrol in it twice - the main gripe I would say about it is for the type of car it is, the fuel tank is miniscule. From full, the range was reading at 250 miles, which is pretty pants.

Overall though, the car was a joy - quiet and calm when you want it to be (8spd helps in this department) or a loud, squirming animal in Sport+ mode and full throttle, with wheelspin being controlled by the systems well into the depths of 2nd gear. Conditions were damp, mind. I can see what the people above mean regarding the way it wants to be treated, too. Because of the aforementioned dampness I didn't ever really grab it by the scruff of the neck on a B road, it definitely feels better suited to blasting along wider carriageways.

I would love to own one at some point - the stereo (Mark Levinson) was fantastic, the styling really to my taste, the front seats in particular wonderfully comfortable - but sadly I think they sit a fair way out of reach at the moment.

The same dealer just got it's GS-F demonstrator out though... wonder if they need to borrow my GT86 again any time soon biggrin
