Sounds like a custom boot liner is your best bet, if you can find one that fits.

Has anyone taken the roof wrap off a EUR spec car yet?

I'm interested to confirm if it's unidirectional fibres like the first few JDM models....

Does anyone know if the exhaust tips are removable?

I always get chrome painted/powder coated black to save hassle keeping clean...

Also the TRD carbon interior kit looks interesting - anyone got one on order/fitted?

Yes quite a few. It’s identical except unfinished. Theory is it’s cost saving as finishing would be quite time consuming and more costly. It needs some work to make smooth and requires a UV wrap to protect it.

The appearance of the ‘forged carbon’ roof splits opinion. Some people prefer it to the fake carbon weave, others have described it as looking like a cheap laminate kitchen worktop:

I liked the idea of unwrapping it at first but agree that it doesn’t look great. Then you’ve got to relacquer or UV PPF it again.

It's one of the few poor decisions they've taken with the GR, covering that lovely, functional carbon fibre with a wrap.

Normalise non-woven CF! Looks much more pro anyway.

Wrap or no wrap, it looks better than the melted chessboard that BMW managed for the M2 CS:

If you’re going to show the weave, then it needs to be layed up properly. Not by some German kid on work experience.

Cost to wrap vs preparing it to a presentable finish. Plus the time it adds to the production line.

Ouch

That surely answers the question of whether its premium over comp is all that worth it.

Not sure if thats the same thread, but I was reading one where the owners were showing it off like some sort of individualiser and badge of honour for their cars. Or as I read it - trying to justify the crap to everyone who took the piss before going home and crying into their bucket of depreciation whist sat on the thrown of buyers remorse.

All the videos etc I am seeing, the cars seem to exhibit quite bad rev hang between gears. Am I seeing/hearing something that isn't there or is this a thing? I have had similar in cars before and this could be a dealbreaker for me if so.

Carbon fibre always seems silly to me when added on top of something else…adding a weight saving material on top of the original part.

It's a wrap though. It only gives you the appearance. Im a big fan of its look but unfortunately it's not available for LHD cars yet.
