The PE has a different electrical and monitoring system. It has a fuel pump part number different to all later models. I’ve not heard of any PE fuel pump failures. ?????
Interesting, I wonder why they are changing them then. Mine is booked in next week
I have to believe there have been some PE failures - replacing 1955 fuel pumps is going to be expensive. Its replacement has certainly eased my mind - I did "invest" in AA cover last year because of the uncertainty. I won't bother again.

Just picked my car up. Apparently my car (all PEs?) don't need a reflash of the software. Some owners of other A110s have asked not to have the reflash because of it would remove their remap. Unfortunately (some/all?) of those cars needing a reflash won't start without it.

I’m picking up my PE next month and enquired about the fuel pump to be told it’s already been replaced as part of the sale preparation. I’m really looking forward to (hopefully) enjoying the Alpine experience.

I've had notification that my PE #1453 needs booking in for a replacement pump. Shame that they didn't tell me that earlier, the car was in for service work less than a month ago, and now I need to return for this work....... Plus they want £20 for the courtesy car??.

This was after being told that the PE wouldn't be part of the recall. They really need to sort out their aftercare support if they're seriously going to try and increase the model range over the next few years. On a positive note,at least the electric ones won't have fuel pumps??

My P.E. is booked in for a fuel pump recall at Banbury 22nd April.
Now looking forward to Donington 2nd May after the disaster at Bedford.

My PE was supposed to be fixed next Monday but there now appears to be a shortage of fuel pumps so waiting for a new date.

Mine was done yesterday. The PE change apparently also gets a check on the software and if needed some things gets updated. Something to do with the fuel injection I gathered. I am no mechanic so a bit over my head.

Cool, good to get it done. How does the car feel now, any different?

Hard to tell as the traffic was awful on the way home. Tickover in traffic appeared less lumpy and I saw an average mpg of 99.80 on a couple of occasions on the way home! Not sure I believe it. No idea why it would happen but it appeared the light vibrating sound from the engine area on low speed de acceleration in Sport Mode had cured itself. Need to give it a run on clear roads to check though.

Ok, sounds positive. Definitely no power cut/jolt in the 4-5k rpm range? That’s what I’m getting now that I hope the fuel pump recall work fixes.

Had the fuel pump done this morning by John Banks Cambridge. Very efficient, all completed by lunchtime including fitting a new battery. The car is running perfectly and now my peace of mind is returning.

I don't understand what's changed with the recall situation with the PE
Mine was in at Manchester at the end of the year for the arch corrosion warranty work and they tried hard to push Alpine for the recall and even checked fuel pump part number
They were told by UK and France that the fuel pump that was fitted was definitely not affected and therefore not part of the recall
I have just had an email notifications me that my car now needs the fuel pump changing and possible software update
It all seems odd, particularly at the info from life110 regarding the PE

Just had (probably) the same email, saying there was a possible software update - despite having had the pump replaced a couple of weeks ago, and been told that my PE didn't need a software update. My dealer hadn't got any new info to the effect that my car needed to software update - so may just be a generic email.

I'd like to know if any PE owner's cars have needed a software update - there still seems to be some confusion.

I got the email today, but Wasim told me on 21 March and the app told me on 21 March too, and I booked it on 24 March to be done tomorrow, so maybe the emails are delayed or something is wrong with their email or CRM system?

My PE had a fuel pump change about a week ago and it also had some sort of fuel injection software update. I also received and email advising a fuel pump change needed yesterday. I’ll just ignore it. Touchwood, the car is running very well.
