This is where PH comes into its own. Lots of input above from a marque specialist in the trade.
A V6 Emira is on my bucket list. I'd want one with a long manufacturer warranty, by the end of which hopefully the teething problems would have been sorted.
In theory cars currently for sale should start selling en masse in the spring. Speculators should have swallowed their pride by now and the market will determine the cars value.
I fear Geely is simply using the Emira to promote the Lotus brand and that it will be dead as soon as the saloon and SUV are established. In the longer term this might help prop up Emira values, due to them being the last proper Lotus sports car.
Some would argue that it's not a "Proper" Lotus sports car, and that the last ones of those were the Exige/Elises.A V6 Emira is on my bucket list. I'd want one with a long manufacturer warranty, by the end of which hopefully the teething problems would have been sorted.

Hardly fair. I don't think that criticism was ever levelled at the Evora. The worst you could say of the the Emira is that it has lost a bit of the edge that the Evora had,Being a 400 owner, I would agree that many feel the Emira has lost a bit of edge over the Evora and yet its (subjectively) a better looking car, with a greatly improved interior. That said, the Evora buyers probably chose the car over a Cayman because it was a bit more raw by comparison and I actually feel that the 4** cars even compare favourably with a 981 gen GT4.
My issue with the Emira is that it's probably not got a nicer interior than a 718 cayman, so by and large it's now trading on looks alone against a GTS and with the various reliability and paint issues now becoming apparent, I do wonder where sales will ultimately end up before Geely get bored and move on.

They had to wind the Emira back to give themselves headroom for the later cooking models. The 430 is probably as much as they can physically get out of the platform it probably looks like the I4 could disappointingly be a quite limited package of the rumours about heat containment are true.
I'm still keen to see a cup version and still might sign up but it would really need to be a very convincing spec. In the end I went with the GT4 its just a more stress free car. There's been no drama with it no eml lights bubbling paint or other numerous issues the main thing for me really is the PDK gearbox and I have to say I think the steering is better on the 718 than it was on my old Evora which I actually can't believe I'm saying but there we are. Not so sure on the interior being better all cars are much of a muchness in that regard when you get to this level I would say.

Biggest problem with the Emira interior is the seats. Only one design, only fairly comfortable but you sit way too high and there is an abysmal lack of lateral support for even the Emiras performance. My issue with the Emira is that it's probably not got a nicer interior than a 718 cayman, so by and large it's now trading on looks alone against a GTS and with the various reliability and paint issues now becoming apparent, I do wonder where sales will ultimately end up before Geely get bored and move on.
Not so the Cayman which has the option of the superb carbon fibre buckets which suit the ethos of the GT cars perfectly and you are perfectly in tune with the chassis for greater driver interaction sitting 'in' rather than 'on' it as is the case with the Emira.

Is that a studio pic or the actual car which is left hand drive.....
No black pack and 9k miles on a 2023 car so reckon on £55k trade tops.
Guess they cheat and use the configurator. Was a blue one that tickled my fancy and a quick Google of the reg showed it on a Lotus staff members social media. No black pack and 9k miles on a 2023 car so reckon on £55k trade tops.

It would appear that someone in the trade really loves it I bid 60k!
But what could you sell it at if you bought at £60k? There is a nice looking yellow car on AT with 650 miles. Seller can’t get £68500. Maybe he takes £65-£66. I can see buying one for yourself at £60k makes sense, but surely there’s not enough margin for a dealer to be laying out £60k to maybe earn 6/7k back- at best? Or maybe the money earnt on finance balances it out?Ha! What margin do you think dealers are working on? 6/7k would be about where you would be with a 60k car. That auction car is actually on at 73 but obviously there will begin the price reductions and they will maybe get 67/68 they paid 64 remember.
10k margins are largely the reserve of Porsche dealers on sub 100k cars out in the real world you turn 5/6 on something like an Emira that's not bad. Getting 10k margin in the lotus world is something I've only ever done a handful of times it's exceptionally rare. I would think a lot of the dealers with Emiras will dip a toe and be glad to get their money back after a few months that's normally how it goes with Lotus sales the none specialists get burned and avoid them afterwards.

You are right. I base my opinion on my experience with Porsche. A dealer in Surrey bought my 981S (very low miles and ceramics) and sold it for £10k over the amount they paid me. I can’t complain, they paid largely what I was asking and I had no interest from private buyers.
The yellow car on AT does look good.

Ah, right, I mistakingly thought it might be the pre reg delivery miles ones going through BCA.I can understand why that colour and mileage didn't get close to £60k, although a best bid of £41k is shockingly low.
Wouldn't Lotus normally be offering these to their dealer network rather than punting them out through BCA? Perhaps Lotus dealers don't have capacity or the desire for more used stock?

If they are £64k with commission via BCA, I guess those currently retailing at £70k cost those dealers a bit more and they don't have much margin left. No warranty claims to worry about, but there are still capital/finance costs and all the other overheads to deduct.10k margins are largely the reserve of Porsche dealers on sub 100k cars out in the real world you turn 5/6 on something like an Emira that's not bad.
