Fantastic Mabbs, I share your delight, my guess is that the 300 point is what you cannot resist aiming for, good luck, can I have a drive please?
Thanks Stuart. Yes, in the back of my mind over the 300 BHP mark would have always been nice, but looks easily realistic now !!Yes you are more than welcome to have a drive. It will be at the MEV curborough sprint day this year - just be gentle !!!
WOW that is one of the best built kit i have ever seen and with 300bhp that will be a monster when will it be going for iva.
Oh and noticed you are going to build a mevabusa are you going to be keeping the rocket aswel and with the level of quality in the rocket build can't wait to see the build of the mevabusa.
Ive will be starting my exocet build latter on in the month when i pick up the kit just got to clean and paint the engine, gearbox and suspension going for the lotus colour scheme black and gold first time a exocet has been done like it.

Well, car went to IVA today and ............................. it failed
There was a few small issues which are easy to rectify, but the main reason is that it was too loud !!!
Even though my exhaust had been removed and another silencer with heavy baffling fitted, the whine of charger, whistle of the dump valve and the air intake noise put it way over
We are now looking into reducing the noise level with extra wadding etc, and car is booked in for the re-test on Thursday - fingers crossed
All be it tight, still looking like the car in it's totally completed state will be at Newark

A very different setup in that I had an Eaton blower, but having it set up OEM style with a blower bypass and upstream throttle, it added almost no noise at all. Off throttle you never knew it had a blower. A PITA, but if it came to it, a re-route might be in order to quieten it sufficiently for the test?? Accidentaly suffer a blower belt failure on the way maybe?? Would that work?
Many thaks for the help and advice. I am hoping we now have it quite enough to meet requirments. Have removed the dump valve as this was under slight relief at 4000 RPM, put some more wadding down the ram-air inlet and in the exhaust and seems to be sufficient. Fingers crossed we get a pass in the morning - if so it's off to Newark the weekend !!
Yes we have a pass
Sailed through the second attempt. The guys at RTR did a superb job and were very careful and respectful of any modifications needed to gain the pass.
Very happy boy.
Will be spending all hours now getting it ready for Newark. There is a hell of a lot to do but it will be done to it's full glory.
Again superb service as Paul after coming back from the IVA, completed all the forms and shot off down to the DVLA to submit all the documents so it registered ASAP. He even gave them a self addressed 1st class envelope to speed it all up to the maximum. All in a days work at RTR
I may be all road legal by next week if the DVLA get their finger out. Just one more dyno session at Northampton Motorsport for full power runs and it's done
See you all at Newark come rain or shine

My appologies. The car passed Thursday midday and I was there when it came back from it's IVA pass until as late as possible, and then again on the Friday from 06:00 hrs, when they opened,(I live 1 1/2 hrs drive away) till RTR shut, but did not manage to get it finished. As per usual, their was a lot more for me to get done than I though. I am truley gutted that I did not get it their on time
It will be completed next week and hopefully the DVLA will have sent the documents through so I will be fully road legal.
Again sorry for not getting it their on time, but it will definatly be at all the future events, starting with Goodwood festival of speed in a couple of weeks, all the MEV meets, Donington Kit car show etc, and some other smaller events closer to me,
Jon

Not quite at 600 BHP/T yet, but very close
I have another dyno session booked for tomorrow as the car is now in, should we say non IVA mode, so we will see how it performs. Will up date ASAP with the further dyno runs from tomorrow and some pics of the completed car.
We are all fully legal now and done about 50 miles on the road so far. Has been very nice to drive, very loud, and something I am going to need to get used too

First real outing this weekend and had a good 'shake down' on the car. MEV owners group anual meeting at Curborough was a great day. Good weather, great company and the car was faultless. Very happy with the car and it's performance, although I very much doubt I explored all it's potential !!
Car will be featured in the next 2 editions of CKC magazine. It's been a great experience building my first kit car and now having driven the car (331 miles to date !!) it just gets better
