Are you sure that's a Westfield???
The owner tells me it's a Westfield, looks like one to me so no reason to doubt him/it.

What makes you think it's not? (Serious question by the way)
Looks exactly like one to me. wink

Well....engine back in and fired, clamshells fitted, no time to wash it just straight down to the MOT station before it closed to get it tested tomorrow morning. I'm praying to the Gods Of Stoneleigh that it passes...or only fails slightly. Got insurance and Tax to get sorted before Saturday!

It was always my intention to share the same spec parts as the MNR/DAX/MKs used, so the car shares the same track as a Ford Escort, but is only slightly longer wheelbase than a stock 126. Still a full 9 inches shorter than a Mini.

Sierra Quaife quickrack, Wilwood M16 front calipers, Protech dampers, CXR 13" wheels, Sierra rear calipers, and so on..

The radiator is from one side pod of an Ultima GTR, as are the front wishbones.

I feel slightly bad resurrecting this thread;

It had a new one of these;

(1275 overbored to 1330, track cam, stage 3 head, lightweight flywheel, orange diaphragm clutch, 1.75" carb, recon 'box with centre pick up.
And it received new exhaust;

(Which I am looking to replace as the box sits directly under the fuel tank, making it the closest thing to the ground...)

I've just photographed this in North Finchley.

From the Q plate and it being RHD I'm assuming a kit car? It looked absolutely stunning. Am I right? Where can I get one?

hehe

There are RHD 356s, just not very many.

Only 356 kit I know of was Chesil but I thought they only did speedsters. PGO in France did coupes (sort of) but don't have the good sense not to f@#k with a design classic, culminating in the abomination that is the hemera

I like the Chesil speedster. It was the "Q" plate on the car in the photo that confused me. I see a "Q" and I think "kit car".

Pilgrim did a 356, Covin did one and even Dax (the Dax Californian with blistered arches and martini striping on the demo car IIRC)

There ia a 356A coupe available from Technics in the UK (Martin & Walker)

Q460 DNR, interestingly, comes up as an Eagle SS kitcar on my search. Making that 356 Rep incorrectly registered and probably avoiding SVA/IVA.....

Well, it looked immaculate. I wish i'd pulled alongside to chat to the owner. Sounded like and old version beetle engine.

As was the old Eagle SS. Maybe it was used as a donor for the 356?
