I only looked at the pictures on my phone... On the laptop now and I am really impressed with the interior!

Accents inr ed, as opposed to green, and I think that is spot on what I am looking for!

Wonder what (don't know if you can/ want to say) that set him back... Hmmmm....

Yes its an Impreza gearbox.
The original plan was to use a 5 speed as I knew the "lock out" kit was available to convert to RWD from 4wd ( we use the same Subaru power/drivetrain in the V Storm, we are build agent and dealer)
However the customer found a company willing to convert the 6 speed, so it is fitted witha JDM 6 speed fully recon.
We are using a Extreme clutch.

Will keep you up to date with progress, workshop littered with odd project s, 2 sdr V Storms in there, the RS "Fubaru" and a Super Stratos with a v6 Alfa engine.
Lurking in the corner my friend is building a "Subareno cliopreza" check it out on facebook.
Thats a mad combo!

Glad you like it cheers for feedback, will update
Regards

Using an Impreza donor which is part of my business tbh costs could have been kept down if for example the engine was used "as was" obviously the sensible thing to do is rebuild if budget allows, upgrading parts just pushes the budget ever upwards.
Re the seats the ones shown are Impreza..some do come with red accents (so again use as is, it saves money, but like most things you alter and just get carried away with it!)
The problem with one of tese jobs is you just cannot cost it..the V Storms we do at least there is a bit of a clue/build method.
This Rs is such a one off and the build and work dictated by the owner he wants it just how he wants it I do think it will be pretty special when its done.
He plans launch control, anti lag, flat shift..aswell as air con, nice audio, and killer paint mixed with kind off retro looks with modern twist...

Jasemac, as you have the cars there, could you take a few measurements of the engine and box for me?

Interested in the total length, total width and the distance from the front of the engine to the centreline of the driveshafts.

Much appreciated if you can help.

No problem but will be in the week when i get back near it. Ring me daytime if need be? 01872 561687
The 5 speed gbox casing is smaller casing but driveshaft output will not differ.

If you are running less power you would save a lot of money going 5 speed, and the lock out kit is easily available from SDR.
As is a known and working 5 speed gear kit, we still have a hurdle to clear w ith this on the 6 speed..
We also could have sited engine a little further forward in the RS but would have meant further chassis mods and for little gain on this particular job.
What are you pondering on BTW, if you need anything Subaru wise give me a shout.

I've got an idea for a Lancia 037 rep but need to see what's gonna fit on the hole as it were.

Itd have to be a sc instead of turbo though.

I'd forgotten I'd even started this! Lived in 3 countries since then but settled back in the UK... with other projects on the go; I gave up my search a little but these are always in the back of my mind!

That one looks very interesting!

Oxshott, Surrey... Have a 106 XSi restoration OEM+ on the go (for 2yrs), Illiad blue Clio V6 Phase 1 #002, Fiat 500 and a borrowed mini...

BMW 545i went last weekend frown

Mini will go in the next few weeks/months, Pug needs finishing in 2019 as it hasn't moved since a respray and the V6 is SORN (1k miles on the clock).

All rather depressing but cars have taken a back seat with a new job this year and a house move this weekend! I can't wait to move a load of engines, 'boxes, tools etc from the garage! Albeit we've bought 200m down the road smile

2020 probably the time for another project!
