Yes i read the reply, he has had problems agreed, why not just refund the guy instead of dragging it out for over 9 months. Its not like theyve been sat on the money doing nowt is it ?
Communication is the key to a successful business so they tell me.
Jeff, had I been able to forsee what was unfolding last year and how long it would go on for I would have refunded, but things snowballed.
We did our best, but were found wanting.
We have made reparation for that.
The key to a good business is probably something I shall never have, call it incompetence, bad planning, whatever you would like, but it has never been about the money to us, but a shared passion that has helped us do some good.
Fact is the charity side comes first now. You cant run both without something having to give. I learned that last year.
We do not sell any more without negotiation and discussion with potential clients because of the complicated nature of what we do with the charity work taking up a lot of time.

Hi All,
I'm new here but have taken an interest in this thread as I too cannot get Mark to contact me regarding outstanding orders.
I'm the guy that travelled from Grimsby to Southampton to look at these vehicle. I had a great chat with Mark and the lads and ordered two sandrails and one safari (White chassised car).
This was may last year. The two week delivery was actually nearer six weeks and when they arrived they are not quite finished. I had to collect although I had paid for delivery. Mark did send some lengths of tube for me to finish myself. Mark said he would give me a deluxe wiring loom instead of the deliver which I thought was fair. I'm still waiting for it. I'm also still waiting for the other deluxe loom which was part of the original order.
I can't get mark to contact me at all. He ignores calls and emails. I have sent a message to all his ebay ads but still no response.
MARK PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL ME, YOU HAVE MY DETAILS.
I will start my own build diary for these vehicles shortly as we have now finished the dry build and are stripping everything for painting.

Just seen this pop up on my bookmarked page, it's not me you need to talk to, looks like another chap has problems in getting hold of you now.We did our best, but were found wanting.

Doing charity work is very admirable, but if it comes at a cost to your paying customers then maybe you need to prioritise ?
Not having a dig, just saying like.
It sounds like there are some real problems at that business. It often goes like that when businesses are failing (not saying that is the case here) but the pattern is very familiar, customers waiting for paid for goods and no communication from the people running it.
Anyone who has ordered and paid for anything had better resign themselves...

Sounds very sad considering it looked a good product at a decent price.
Struggling to understand exactly why the online shop is still live and will let you buy £6k worth of sandrail (amongst other things) via paypal if paying customers are only by negotiation now?
It also says there are 5 in stock
The website certainly sends a different message to that being put forward here...

Maybe that was the problem. The prices were too low to produce the profit a business needs in order to continue to survive.
Remembering they have a business model around being a charity and a training school so most labour is at apprentice rates and they are not allowed to make muckh/any profit which equals low cost products. I think the issue here is not the product or price but the clash of priorities between the charity and the delivery of customer kits but I suspect if youu drop either then the other half becomes not viable so it is all about balance and delivering commitments on both sides.[quote]

Just my pennies worth.
Hi Paulpants,
I was promised my wiring looms in October after threatening with Solicitor.
I'm still waiting.
As far as I am concerned people should steer clear.
I convinced my work colleagues to build some as it was supporting a charity.
We spent £3000 and even discussed becoming a northern agent and helping with fully built cars.
Mark was very interested then nothing.
Looks like I'll have to sort out looms elsewhere.
I'll post a picture of the safari chassis as it arrived so you can see how unfinished it is.

Love a happy ending!
Best get down to your local massage parlour then because it don't look like it from here. You guys that are owed stuff, have you tried actually visiting the site? I appreciate it's a bit more effort than a txt or mail, but it must be worth an hour in the car?
Personally, I don't think this is a case of someone trying to scam you,I think it's a case of poor management more than anything else.
I've already received the 3 chassis just 2 deluxe wiring looms outstanding.
About £400 worth.
I think I've accepted that I'll never see them but I can't accept how someone can run a business as a charity and get away with ripping customers off. Certainly not charitable is it.
I'm surprised no-ones reported them to the charities commission.

Watching this thread with sad interest, been so close to pushing the button on buying one but this is not the kind of customer support I'd be hoping for as a beginner.
Take it with a pinch of salt.At the end of the day, how many people go out of their way to write good reviews?
It could just be a temporary bad spell, they've moved premises recently aswell. I'm sure mark will be on to try and defend what's left but he certainly never sounded like a con artist when I discussed plans with him.
