VX220 as a base

Yellow, SWB...hmmmm
Wheelbase:206 - 2286mm
246 - 2340mm
Elise - 2300mm
VX220 - 2330mm
VX is 10mm wider on the front track and 36mm wider on the rear track than an Elise.
'Original Elise is 15mm wider front and 28mm wider rear than a 246 Dino.
Something similar to the 'new' Europa might be good for a VX rebody? The doors are a similar shape?

ChrisJ: good try, but nope! WHeelbase is getting close, but overall length is waaaaay too much. think shorter... Not a million miles off with the brand though...
This sounds very interesting.... Any chance of a build thread somewhere?
A Dino is a good shout - I saw two on the A3 last weekend. One was a stunning burgundy with dark gold wheels!

I give up!OlberJ:
The Stratos is near enough the same track as a Dino/308, but the wheelbase is 160mm shorter. It's even 22mm shorter than an X1/9!
The only other middy I can see with exactly the same wheelbase as an Elise is a Lancia Monte.

Does that mean you can do a damn good 031 replica?OlberJ:

speaking of such Dino ferrari, they also seem to make them on Lotus Europa basis, see>
I think a nice job, maybe fit a nice ford 3.7 V6 in the back for sound (and power) and gooo ;-) more>

Did you mean 037? A standard Monte is too short and looks silly:http://www.autobelle.it/annunci/public0005/1img-13...
An 031 is a heavily modified Fiat 131
There was an 030, a fairly ugly prototype competition version of a Monte.
I reckon the best standard wheelbase Monte to replicate would be the works 1979 Giro cars:
http://www.lanciabetamontecarlo.nl/Gp5/1979-Giro57...
Rather than the Turbo versions with the big body overhangs. Not particularly practical for road use?:

What does that body cost? Website doesn't have much info.
I asked for a price, but it was a good while ago.'Something like £3.5k, but it depends how many of the addition interior panels you need supplying (dash etc.)
As far as I can see, the body is the correct shape.
That was the never the case with Deons. Were they moulded from a crashed car?
If I remember correctly, that old Europa chassis'd Dino, was originally moulded from a 206 of all things.
A lot of work went into making it look right, and it does.
I love it, I'd paint it green!
what about this? the link in the thread doesn't work any-more, but is that such special Alfa Romeo tipo 33 stradale conversion on a VX220?
if so...nice

Errm, wow!
Another similar car with very nice proportions is the Sbarro Diva. That's an Alfa V6 in the back:
