just interested - after a couple of years without a kit car, I have just purchased an oldish jester and wondered if any others were knocking about.

I have a levely yellow one which is a genuine 95% complete, and my wife doesn't want it now (she wanted it when I got it 7 years ago!). Cut a long story short it is probably (or will be) one of the best in terms of quality, as the previous (sadly passed on) owner had spent a fortune (and not a small one) on replacing just about every part. I've had it for sale, but there seems to be less interest in kits at the moment than a few years ago. I don't want to invest in insurance and tax just to get it through SVA and then sell it.

Agreed. Visually Impaired I would call it.

There aren't many cars for which you can state that the rear looks better than the front! I'm sure there are far worse looking kits (or indeed tin box cars) around. I've seen a few Proton Savvy cars recently OOEr! ugly stick contender.
On my jster I've made new GRP mouldings for the headlights (5 3/4" rather than 7") to attach directly to the bonnet, and that is a great improvement IMHO - there is also a Jester with mk1 Ka headlights which seem to suit well, but I suspect may now be marginal on IVA pass.

Hi there - what aspect of the Ka headlights would be marginal for IVA? I really like the Jester an much prefer the Ka headlight installation - I'm interested as I am looking to get one and modify it!

The Ka headlights come out (much) too low for IVA.
On my jester I've made new GRP mouldings for the headlights (5 3/4" rather than 7") to attach directly to the bonnet, and that is a great improvement IMHO - about the nicest reasonably priced 'fix' without going too low. I have it for sale as a genuine 95% complete kit if you are interested.

I would be interested to see pictures of your front light arrangement as it sounds interesting!
I presume that the 'normal' Jester lights have the bottom edge right on the 500mm limit?

Thanks

Are you able to pm me? I don't know if that's possible here? I could then email directly to you.
The regular 7" ones are a little higher (about 510)as they are on pedestals like LSIS ones.
I've used 5 3/4" units, and no pedestals - they 'flow in' nicely as they have hidden fixings securing them to the bonnet (where the 'styling depression' is if that makes sense). They are the same 510mm height, but do look neater as they are smaller and have no pedestal.
I'm in Norfolk - don't know how local that is to you?
I've also sourced some front indicators with an exact match to the body curve, so they fit flush and look designed for the job - not regular old round mini type!
