Brighton Speed Trials - Won my class :)
Discussion
11.81 sec fastest run, 129MPH terminal. Not to bad, won the class and 8th overall.

These are the times from the data logger
I beat the BAC Mono in my class, as well as a Caterham 620R driven by Scott Mansell, Aventedor Roadster, Ferrari F40 and another Sylva Phoenix with a cossie engine running 480BHP (!). Great day...when else do you get to do 130MPH down Brighton Seafront !

Congratulations Jeff! I was there and saw you do it! Not wishing to appear to detract from your undoubted success, but the Aventador driver messed up the first two runs and didn't exactly cover himself in glory later on either. Sadly, for those of us up on the Marine Parade the PA system was inaudible. What happened to the speaker on lamp posts all down the course? Is the 2800 figure in brackets in the programme the extrapolated engine capacity due to the blower?
In the two years since the last event, Brighton (the town) has deteriorated from shabby chich to downright neglected. Is this the Green philosophy?

The car has a Supercharger on the 2lt Zetec, hence the 2800 adjusted figure. Joe Eagle in the Aventedor was having issues with the launch system on the car, it kept dropping out of gear once the launch was initiated. He did do a 11.9 sec run without the launch control. So I didn't think my 11.81 was too bad against a 700HP, 4WD Lambo with flatshift paddle gearchange
Did you have a good day?

Yes thanks Jeff. I have been going to the Trials man and boy since George Brown was riding Nero and Dante Duce driving various US dragsters and hotrods along the Madiera Drive. Probably first in the late fifties or early sixties. The event has suffered from the 2013 hiatus brought about by the Greens' opportunistic attempt to ban the event after the sad loss of life in 2012. The organisers, to whom all praise is due, seem to have cut back on facilities: no full length PA, no moving display of times and speeds, etc. Perhaps loss of income from the City's lamentable dereliction of duty in ignoring the state of the balcony structure for several years, leaving paying spectators to mill about in a very overcrowded and none-too safe enclosure opposite the start line. Despite all the gripes, though, nothing can destroy the essential vibrancy of Brighton and the contribution that the Speed Trials annual appearance makes to that. I was glad that there were no dangerous moments, and that apart from a couple of on-track break-downs, the day went well, to borrow a phrase. Once more - Well Done! Did you have a good day?
Engine is at builders but I'm in no hurry as it will sit all winter.
Just specced cp pistons, bearings, oil pump, oil cooler, wrc head gasket etc.
Need some repair work on the cylinder head because of det damage. Then depending on finances a new inlet and exh manifold and ecu.
Your car looks so drivable, I would say far more drivable than mine. That's why you beat the cossie engined sylva.
