the kitcar industry is something typical bristish...but plenty of cars have been sold in the meanwhile to germany, NL, France etc...why not contacting the local clubs / dealers and putting together a package consisting of ferry, camping / B&B and entry fee?

but than the show should be somewhere in the south, the size of the show should be as big as possible, otherwise people arent interested crossing the channel.

Wasn't Detling ( Kent ) known as the European Kit Car Show ?

With the current show situation I feel a little disappointed as after several years of scratch building I'm just about to IVA

When I started a mere cough & suggestion of a pint was enough to get a meeting arranged.

Cheers

Having a foot in 2 camps (Kit and Classic) with my Miglia and previously my Sammio, i have always been surprised about the kit-car-drivers-don't-pay attitude, as i have been attending lots of classic car shows and i have never seen a problem with the Classic Car Drivers paying for entry.

In fact the big Bristol Classic Car Show in the summer at the Bath & West Showground has an enormous amount of classic (and kit) car drivers turn up and the reserved parking area is normally as-big as the show itself. And it is a big show!

I've posted before that i believe multi-genre shows are the way to go and the Bi-Yearly Mark Moor International Vehicle festival (http://www.mmivf.co.uk/) and the ThornFalcon meet (http://www.thornfalconclassics.com/event.aspx) amongst others exemplify this as last year both those events had a superb turnout of just about every genre of car in what are two small Somerset villages!

Fingers crossed that more events like that, and others including manufacturers start popping up over the coming years smile

I'm all for the idea of the PoP show and would be happy to pay for entry BUT having read their website they say any people with dogs will be denied entry. Is that so? Same problem I had with Donnington, went there one year and had to leave the dog in the car, SWMBO was frantic worrying about the poor little lad (Cavalier King Charles).

Really friendly comment in their FAQ's
dogs/animals are not allowed under any circumstances on to the site, with the exception of registered guide dogs. Dogs must not be left in cars and those arriving on site with a dog will be asked to leave.

So anyone who's been can you confirm if they stick to it 'cos I'm not putting the dog in kennels and driving half way cross the country, well tbh SWMBO wouldn't allow it.

Donington and PoP are both motorsport events, surely you cant expect to take a dog there?

Nearly every motor sport event I've been to involving racing has a no dog policy in the interest of safety for racers and dogs
