there was a thread recently with a guy selling a kit car it got quite heated because it was hideous.
The standard of cars on here is quite superb.

Looks very tidy. Interesting roll cage setup you've got.

Thanks again. Different angle:-

It's what was the Dax idea of a cage with side impact protection. Its better then the asymmetric bar that they did and certainly better than nothing at all but I'm not convinced that its the best to be honest.

Always had a soft spot for these and I don't really know why, I normally lust after performance orientated things like the Ultima.

Side impact protection in kits is better provided by planting the right foot firmly and having ample oomph to move out of the way.

What scares the hell out of me is getting rear ended in the Skunk. Behind the passenger is the swingarm. A 100mm square tube of 4mm steel. There's nothing to stop a rear impact from pushing it through the passengers hips and kidneys.

The driver doesn't have to worry about recovery from such horrific injuries. Immediately behind the driver sits the aluminium fuel tank. There is no cage or metalwork protecting the tank from a rear impact.

Getting shunted isn't something I like to dwell on eek, but then who wants to drive a tank ?
