BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit
Discussion
They don't really compare at all due to the compromises made to fit the Z3 more in the style of but....just for interests sake, the pattern for the wooden buck that was used to make the Tribute was taken from original chassis number 3367.

When you look at the work that goes into it, you have to wonder how many they need to sell at £5k each to make a profit.Hi guys, just to keep this thread ticking over, our Mirage 250 made it onto the front cover of Complete Kit Car magazine (April issue) if anyone saw it? It's safe to say we are more than pleased with the write up and it kind of makes the last 7 years all worth it.
We will be attending Stoneleigh Kit Car show and Goodwood Revival this year if anyone is interested coming down for a look. Hope to see some of you there and have a chat.
PS: We have a new website coming soon with all the info, prices, pics etc. But for now you can keep up to date with the final stages of the build via facebook (https://www.facebook.com/mirageautomotivedevelopments/) or twitter (https://twitter.com/MirageAutoDev).

OMG, I've just read the Facebook page and noticed that it's not just Z3s that this is based on.
I've got an M Roadster that I would have regretted stripping down, but I have an E46 330 that just sits there.
To the nearest £5k, what sort of price are we talking?
Yes it's not based on anything other than our own custom designed chassis. We did look at the Z3 and MGB as donor options at the very beginning, but it would have meant the dimensions were completely wrong on the finished car. This was the only way for us to get it as accurate as possible and a decent drive at the end of it.I've got an M Roadster that I would have regretted stripping down, but I have an E46 330 that just sits there.

I’d certainly recommend a read of the April issue of Complete Kit Car and get over to see us after May for a viewing and drive.
We recommend any model of BMW with the M52/M54 alu block engine (325, 328, 330, Z3, Z4, 525, 528 or 530). The 330 e46 being the preferred, more powerful option. So you are already all sorted there. All you need is engine, box and diff from the donor. Everything else is custom.
We haven’t finalised prices yet, I’m still trying to pin down some manufactures, but we intend to release pricing info at the Stoneleigh Kit Car show. Feel free to register your interest on the form here: http://orders.mirageautomotive.co.uk/ and you will be sent pricing information a few days before we officially release it at the show. If you think high end Cobra/Ultima kits £50-60k you’re not going to be too far wrong.

Very nice. Do you have an idea of pricing yet, even roughly?
What are you doing with interiors?
See my previous post re pricing. What are you doing with interiors?
As for interiors, we expect some customers to go for a stripped out racer, or either a grand tourer like our current one. If you need some specifics, let me know.
Here are some pics of our current one. (Forgive the messy wiring in the second photo. This was taken while we were test fitting the dash after trimming)

My 330 is an auto convertible. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want an auto 250, but can your build accommodate an auto-box as well as manual?

Quick update on this thread - the black car was the first professionally finished coupe but it's in the Netherlands.
This is the first professionally finished coupe in UK - literally just finished. The (very lucky!) owner took inspiration from the Eric Clapton SWB and, yes whilst you can argue about degrees of accuracy, there's simply no denying it's a stunning looking car. I understand it will be at Stoneleigh on the build agents stand (Nubodi)
