Den Tanner - he must be out by now?

Is it absolutely necessary to bring up a thread that is now 10 years old? A topic that was closed on here in fact. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since. I personally am not the slightest bit interested in what went on and certainly not interested in taking sides, we need to move forwards not drag up the past in an effort to create scandal. Onward and upwards please!
The bloke changed the wording of a customer's advert - for his own amusement. You know the kit car business, I know publishing - that was scumbaggery of the highest order. Then the bloke built a cannabis farm. Now, maybe I'm old-fashioned, but having done those, I would think twice about trusting him. I do understand that you work in a small industry, and it's an industry that requires co-operating with publications, and that you might well not want to rock any boats. That's fine for you, but I pop in here as a kit-car buyer and owner and I'm genuinely gobsmacked.
Den would be the first to admit he has made a few bad judgements/stupid mistakes over the past few years, and I would never make excuses for him, however he's paid for his errors and the slate should be wiped clean...(imo)
I for one welcome him back, and I hope he sticks around on this forum, as his knowledge of the kit car scene is very comprehensive, being a manufacturer and publisher for many years.

Den spent years on the vendetta for his rival and openly abused people who didn't agree with him or pointed out he was wrong in some areas, he claimed corruption in the other kit mag and openly put it all over the pages of his Mag, on forums and in private messages... he questioned peoples integrity etc etc.
Then he goes to Jail for growing Drugs! ironic I guess.
I was very aggrieved when this was directed at me, had sleepless nights etc... did him going to Jail wipe the slate clean for me? nope, made no difference at all.
In truth I was over it way before then, hell who cared what he thought of me. It will be hard for me to trust what he says again though, but I truly hope he has come out a changed man, he has huge knowledge of the industry both the politics, networking and how to promote it.
Currently I think the industry needs a kick as to me it looks like it is on a downward spiral... I think the UK will soon start to adopt the more stringent EU laws on cars like kit cars making it harder and harder and or more expensive to build them, unless we have a strong presence I think it will kill it off even more.
So I do welcome back Den, if he is still interested in the industry and has got over his issues with some other big players in the industry I think he might be able to do a lot of good... Im guessing its going to be a rough ride though.

I'm 'growing a pair' (as you put it) by standing up for a principle I believe in. If you don't have similar principles, that's up to you. This is so boring, old news and as Mr. Mills says "wipe the slate clean".
ETA: last from me on this.

Let's move on. How are we going to get the EU to keep their hands off regulating kitcars out of existence?

I don't think we can.I think the horse has already bolted... too late to close the stable door now.
We have the prospect of a referendum in which we could give the EU its marching orders. But even if we did, I doubt kit car legislation would revert to the free-for-all it once was.
