Really sorry to hear this - Love their work!

They're pretty pricey though and they seemed to have quite a big facility to run etc...

Just read their Facebook page. Some very disgruntled customers on there.

Shame to see someone's business end like that.

It really is a shame as they seemed to be one of the more innovative when it comes to the sort of products I am interested in (mid-engine conversions). They were never cheap though.

I was bidding on Lot 3 (went very cheap) but didn't realize the auction format kept adding 10mins every time someone bid, so I ended up having to go for lunch and the person who out-bid me won.

That was the mid-engine conversion kit and it went for just £260 in the end frown

Perhaps some of the workers/ fabricators up there will appear and maybe offer their services to enthusiasts?!

Bit more of an explanation from Chris over at TMF
Have been a passenger in a Type-r version, and been amazed not just at the performance but the ride quality as well (NOT the quietest of rides, but comfy)

I get the feeling that restarting Z-Cars might be difficult now a few accusations are getting thrown at Chris A and a lot of the stuff has be auctioned off.

Would be a shame if this is 'the end'.

I have a ZCARS Vtec Mini which I purchased to sell on once bringing it down south but I have honestly never driven anything as visceral and as fun before or since.

3 years later, a couple of my own touches and some Pistonheads breakfast meetings she still holds her own with the Italian thoroughbreds either parked static or out on the twisty lanes. So much fun for what looks like I've reversed through Halfords for stick on parts. (it's difficult to be subtle when it's a foot wider than a normal classic mini)

Hearing about ZCARS Performance Engineering Ltd failing was sad news however I have managed to pick up some pieces from the auctions.

As ZCARS Ltd own all the intellectual property and rented them to ZCARS Performance Engineering Ltd there is a glimmer of hope that there may be more kits produced in the future; fingers crossed.
