Collected the new joints from work today and measured everything up/checked everything fits the same. Then dropped my shafts off to be copied. Having new ones made from EN24 then heat treated etc as necessary. They will have MGF splines on one end and integra on the other with brand new inner and outer joints. Gonna be a couple of weeks but will be much better when they're done.

Collected and dropped off for heat treating, really pleased with them. The original ones were a bit fatter in the middle as they were sleeved so he's kinda copied it which wasn't really necessary but shouldn't matter. Must be a hell of a lot stronger than the garbage I had previous.

I was going to ask whether they were still sleeved - how funny smile

Should do the trick though!

What's next once these are in? Are you happy with the engine mounts etc?

I think so yeah, once these are in it really needs some miles putting on it. I've not done any decent mileage in one go it's always been a quick drive and find a new problem so hopefully I'm at the point where I've ironed most of them out...!!! Does need all tracking up properly though before driving any distance.

Just been out for a little test drive and all seems OK. Didn't go far just wanted to have a little run out, spin it up a few times etc then check over on the drive again. Still needs tracking up properly but by some fluke I think I've got it near enough right, seems to track straight enough and the rack has made the steering much quicker with so much more feel, slightly heavier steering being the trade off but completely worth it.

Just need to build my confidence up now with the car and taking it on longer drives

Looking great!

Are you worried about rain at all with that filter/inlet position?

Not really but I guess I could put some holes in the duct or something in case I get caught out

This looks mega, great work.

I imagine it'll be a lot of fun with the Honda lump in it.

Yeah, it's pretty quick and makes a great sound. It's quite odd the way it drives, have to remind myself that it wants to rev, compared to my old K series car that was pretty much done by 6500-7000 this wants to go round to near 9k.

Could you let us know who machined the shafts and an approx cost please, inc the heat treating, as I have something similar I need fabricating.
