Morning all,

I'm currently considering/planning building a car based on the Midlana book. The chassis is based around a full cage for increased safety and chassis strength.

Last night I realised that the cage in the plans would not conform to MSA regs due to the tube used being too small. Therefore I'm a bit confused about how I could mount the bigger tubes to the chassis using plates without altering the dimensions and mounting points. If anyone has any pictures of theirs it would really help.

The front hoop also extends down straight to the bottom chassis rail with the top rail also attaching to it. Would I be better off keeping it like this or making the chassis so that the hoop is welded to the top of the chassis. The rear hoop also does this but would have too many bends to conform so I would have to do this at the rear anyway.
