Hi all,

I'm toying with the idea of building/buying a 356 Speedster replica.
Does anyone have any opinions on which manufacturer is best and if so why? I see some use their own chassis, some a modified Beetle floor pan and some a mixture of both.
Chesil, Speedster Clinic, Apal etc etc
Which are the most authentic replica and which are the best quality?
All info welcomed.

Cheers smile

With the price of some Beetle's I would have thought it would cheaper to buy a real one.

biggrin If I had a spare half a million quid I would. I believe Beetles are still relatively affordable and I know a few of the kit car company's can also supply Beetle floor pans ready modified (or with their own bespoke chassis)
If I end up building my own I wouldn't be buying a high end/mint example to then tear apart, a cheapie would suffice.
I just would like to know which companies are the preferred kits and why.

Chesil all the way
Best looking
Yes a little more expensive than others but do look the most "Real"
Although it is a lot to do with what Seats, Carpet, Steering wheel, Wheels and colour, as they all can easily look very KitCar like if done in a certain way.
Only problem you have with them is the guy that owns the company he is just unbelievably difficult to work with.
Luckily I ended up dealing with the guy in the workshop that actually done the work he was awesome.
