7 style kit car not starting

Hi all,

so I have a tiger kit car which has been sat up for about a year. I used to start it every week and let it run for a bit but I neglected it a bit. Now when I go to start it I can hear the fuel pump start running, but never stops. The car will not start, but will do if you spray easy start into the intake.

I haven't had much time to look at it, I was just going to buy a new fuel pump and hope for the best, but before I do this, is there anything else that would cause the fuel pump to run constantly? None of the instruments on the dash are connected at the moment but cannot see that this would do anything to the fuel pump.

you could try fresh petrol first . cheapest option first

I wonder if the fuel pressure regulator has become stuck open and is circulating the fuel back to tank? That might explain why it doesn't stop but the car won't start. Just a possibility worth checking before changing the pump.

What engine and what intake? Standard injection/carb or full blown dcoe's or TB's?
