The printed newspaper article says "it would have been worth more than £20,000" whereas the web article quotes £50,000!

I see no mention of the kit manufacturer; any ideas?

Nightmare
Happened some years ago to a Dax owner, IIRC he was working on the fuel system and accidentally shorted the battery. Scary stuff.

It suggests it is a Healey replica so I would guess at a Sebring International, values would then not be too far out (if you squint a bit for insurance purposes).

The other alternative would be the much cheaper Haldane/Pilgrim Healey replica.

And at the bottom end (though looking at the chassis not likely) would be a re-bodies seven using the MK (or other) Healey shell.

The final version would be the Thruxton but again this is more like the seven style chassis than the cobra type used in the Sebring.

I noticed that someone who commented in the article said that people in the car club look upon kits as a joke.
