There's no two ways about it ... the styling sucks. It sounds fun to drive and I would certainly love to see a pic of a version with a reworked front (with covered front wheels). I thought there used to be a law in the UK that the wheels had to be covered anyway ???

Dont think they have to be covered, just in the sense that they cant stick out... i know there is a word for that but i cant think of it!

There is, but 'covering' them using cycle type mudguards as used on the Kamala and most 7 type cars is OK. Just can't run Hi-boy type fully exposed wheels.

Also have to say I quite like the styling in a quirky sort of way, though it wouldn't get on my 'most beautiful cars' list.

I'd be interested in seeing the enclosed wheel design. Are there any pictures available?

The open wheel design of the Kamala is, err, "challenging" to say the least, unlike the infinitely more beautiful Dare DZ.

The first enclosed wheel Kamala might possibly be that of PHer dontlift, who's car is being built at moment. He said he'll try and post some pics here so keep a look out. I've been invited back to test Kamala's closed wheel Duratec powered demo for Pistonheads when it's ready too.

Think just as many people found the looks of the DZ 'challenging', though obviously not you Jon.

you may be right there Graham. I must confess that I fell in love with the DZ at the 1998 Motor Show to the extent that I put together possibly the first web presence for the car at www.jonrb.com/cars/dare.html just a few days after.

Its somewhat out of date now since there are other sites available, but there you go. I still think its a fun, albeit eccentric and expensive, car and if I had the money I would very likely buy one. Alas, I have too many cars already (and too much debt) to consider another.

Fingers crossed will have some pics this weekend I will post to Pistonheads as soon as i get them.

From what I have seen of the mock ups they will look fantastic, totally transforming the look of the car.

I was at Beaulieu Motor Museum on Sunday and saw a silver Dax Kamala in the car park.

Anyone here?

See www.jonrb.com/photo/Beaulieu2003/ (near the bottom) for some photos.

Edited to add that there seems to be a glitch on the index page. The direct URLs to the pics are:
pic1, pic2, pic3, pic4

Hi,

Can anyone that has experience in driving this car tell me how it handles?
Is it easy controllable in oversteer like with a lotus elise?

If not, does anyone know of an other review of this car?

I appreciate any info.

Kamala will know of any other reviews and you'll probably find some reprinted in their info pack, so they're the best people to contact.

Might also be worth ringing Gary Sanders at Dax as I believe (IIRC) that is was originally a Dax (DJ Sportscars) car. Gary is bound to have driven one or several.

The windscreen is from the Lancia Stratos - that's why it looks so good! Available from Hawk Cars www.hawkcars.co.uk/hf3000/index.html or Omicron www.omicron.uk.com/
