Planning to bring the noble , or finished gtt, to any more shows Andy?
Where are you based?
always go to stoneleigh, must admit the other kit shows seemed to be way too small to offer the range of little bits that I like to buy and I tend to use these shows to meet up with mates and they simply dont go to the other ones.Where are you based?
I do lemans every year without fail and a few meets at group track days a year
ok so its time to draw a line under the noble and restart my work on the GTT... must admit I have walked around the GTT a few times and am struggling to see where I should restart, I have a bit of a timescale as I am loosing the storage were I keep the Nemesis chassis (oh what a disaster that car was ) and I have always been planning to put the buck on that chassis once I had taken moulds from it so I can have it as a rolling item easier to store and move and possibly amend in future should I wish.
In the meantime let me update a few pics of the noble in its almost completely finished stage... I have a colour change planned and a few other things as lets be hounest it would be wrong to ever say these things are fully finished lol
Bear in mind I made moulds for all the carbon parts, the rear I made my own buck for and took moulds from that... I also did my own engine package thats unique and makes it the most powerful one in europe at 700bhp... I also made my own fuel tank, tripple plate clutch package (everyone said it was impossible), dash, designed electric windows, rear chassis etc etc so it was a huge amount of work and why I say it was R&D for the GTT

moved the game on a little more for the GTT and cloves project as I made the nobles Tub from carbon over the winter, just getting it back on the road
Its now full lacquered carbon, only the rear clam to remake for perfect V weave as well
hopefully the noble is now finished, ok well maybe a few minor tweaks

Looks the absolute Tits mate..... Well done bud
I think it's how intricate the centre section is that REALLY shows Andy's skill! There are peope selling carbon body panels that would never take something like this on! I hate to think how detailed the molled and plug were to make something. Like this. Also, Andy, how do you decide what matterial to use in the carbon? For example, what makes you use a Kevlar core over just using carbonfiber? I don't know anything about compersits so sorry if this is a daft question.

I failed to find anyone who would consider doing the rear clam which is why I took the project on myself... and I've got a little carried away Also, Andy, how do you decide what matterial to use in the carbon? The tub is actually more complex as a construction than you think, I have 2 types of foam core and 3 different types of carbon weave as well as kevlar all depending upon the location... for example I wanted the roof so strong I could stand on it (it is) without being heavy... same with the sill sections that you slide over.... so I used a special foam core material there... the door shuts were reinforced with kelvar so that in a crash they will stay intact. the outser side panels use a differnt foam core that can go round more complex curves.
BTW the tub weighs 16kgs!
