Quote (Andy's driven the T70 at over 140mph without losing his cap). ....Actually I think it was closer to 160mph when I was in the car with him.

When I was at GD to test the T70 Andy said they were taking it over to the 'ring for a big event. Also said that as he'd be driving it there that he'd be getting some earplugs first...

I have driven the T70, took it down to Top Gear with some other guys for a giggle. My cap stayed on all the way back, at considerable speeds. I was so impressed with how it handles, drives, feels, looks etc, that I ordered one. Chassis being delivered in October, I just have to work out how to justify keeping the GD427 AND the T70. If it rains whilst driving the T70, just keep above 30mph and you don't get wet!!!!

The two most beautiful cars available the GDT70 and the Phantom Vortex , sorry can't include ultima its to brash . the lack of a roof is no problem here its spring and 33 degrees ! as for rain , only a few days per year so who cares , if you cant tolerate to get wet then you shouldn't drive an open car

Dave, Ya reckon? T70 maybe, but the Phantom Vortex looks like a cheap 360 rip off Now although, having said that, it probably looks much better in the "flesh". The Ultima definitely looks much better in the "flesh", and even better in Oz!!. Hope to have one parked in my garage shortly. Maybe you should come for a drive to check it out (Sydney). On second thoughts, when its finished, Ill come to you!! Andy

On a slight tangent. i recently had a friend of the other halfs stay for a night. She came down from Derby. We whent out for a meal & got into a chat with the pub owner. The owner of pub said come down on fridays we have a lot of bikes here, Idont know much about bikes I was a car racer. I asked "oh wot cars?". The reply "911s, GT40 Lola T70". I was in awe. Our visitor interupted. "My husband worked for Lola, he was on the design team. We spent our honeymoon at the Nuremburg ring racing." Landlord "I was the test driver for the T70". WOW the stories flowed. I was in company that worked with John Surtees, Phil Hill, Patric Head, John Barnard et all. All i could do was listen opened mouth. Still not got over it.

Come on Doc , the vortex is very stylish and should become a classic , as for the Ultima , they make them a couple of K's away at Yatla (yes opposite the famous pie shop!) we have a lot of car works in that estate , GT40 , Rhino hummers etc . and you can aways get your car sorted next to the drive in cinema (Dick Johnson Racing).
