all right, that's very cool. sorry for taking such a long time to reply, have been doing quite a bit else since.
another question for you: do you happen to have any examples around, that you'd be able to send me (luke.leighton@gmail.com) ? or know where one can be downloaded from, or know someone who's successfully done this whom you could introduce me to?
the reason i ask is because although yes i could easily make something, soon enough, i have no idea what the scale is, or if the software i'm using can set the correct scaling, nor whether the DXF file needs to specify all the surfaces of the whole object (as a 3D object, properly enclosed - i forget the technical term for it), or whether just a single surface is sufficient.
if i have an example to work from i can immediately go "ah yes, i know what to do" and can do that *without* having to ask any technical questions about CAD/CAM file formats

this is mainly aimed at phil. i am after 6 screens for the mirach. the company i have previously used are proving to be utterly unreliable and ineffecient, (not returning calls etc) the screen is bespoke to the car and is made by pilkington, am i correct in assuming that given the numbers on the screen you could get these screens for me.sorry to put this on here but having problems using pm
