KITCAR mag ACTION DAYS....what you want?
Discussion
Now for those big buisiness tycoons out there.... I've seen this done.
Company buys a seven, offers a day around a track in it to the customer that beats certain sales targets (along with stickers all over car for a sponcership fee)........ hey presto customer reps climb over themselves to beat targets to win the day in the car.
Do this for a year then due to it's success upgrade the car to an Ultima Sports!

I was considering starting with the Ultima on page 143 of the latest Kit Car and moving up from there.
Seriously though, It looks like a lot of trackday fun for a small consortium. Three guys say.

PS Ex-Biker, I’m not ignoring you but waiting to feel the consensus before responding.

5. Paint the car and cover it with Kit Car, Shell and Kwik-Fit stickers - hey presto, a promotion vehicle.
6. Make sure you get someone to drive it to Donnington next year and leave it outside the main entrance. (I mean if someone calls up and says they are from Shell and they want to display a car for promotional means, who will say no?)
Must admit, I thought I would grab your attention with this bit.
Good to see such a positive response. I know that any of this is possible, including the trackday virgin day, the trackcar loan etc, etc but can I just walk before I run please
Thanks for the concern about being let down by punters but KCM wouldn't have to bear this burden.
I'm suprised that manufacturers wouldn't be interested, as I've often bumped into MK, WLR, Stuart Taylor, Z cars, and YKC / F27 at events just giving their cars a shake down, and Donington track isn't exactly short of manufacturers.
We'll see I suppose....now where did I put those begging letters?

I know Colins story.... should be an inspiration to us all.
Whilst I also feel the need to know the detail I think we've now got to give these guys a chance to go away and work the logistics of it......
price should depend on cost, numbers, interest, perceved advertising etc... I think it would be a little unfair to expect off the cuff figures so early.....
Of cause it's free to me right
Andy

Just a thought, but there must be lots of people like Mark in this position.
Take PeetBee for another example, he’s re-building at the mo and probably shall be for some time to come.
Probably lots of us in that boat, but we may know others who've finished that we could passenger. As long as you don't hold it too early next year I might be in the position for Ex-Biker to tag a ride with me.
kitcarman said:www.duttonownersclub.co.uk Just in case I'm not finished in time I'd like to find out how a Dutton goes!
Suppose Kit Car brought a modest kit
There are a lot of clubs out there that often participate in track days, the Dutton guys for a start. I'd love to see some Ultimas on track too.

Only taunting them!
Will be keen to find the real details when they work 'em out, but I don't see the harm in invoking discussion.

Many thanks Peetbee, I might just take you up on that.

To use my small amount of spanish this sounds like "los cahunas del perros"
The Mutts nuts to those that don't habla espanol I for one would certainly be interested in the £60 manufacturer blast as my car is a bit like peetbees at the mo and besides its not really a car I would want to take out on track
For fear of having the p155 taken something rotten

Getting lots of manufacturers involved would be great for the kit car world.
Just think about all those people who are looking for a new kit. Instead of travelling all over the country to visit each manufacturer, they visit one place. (I know it's called a show!). But then at a show you don't get chance to see how your prespective purchase will perform.
Additionally, they get a direct comparison between cars on the same day, as opposed to trying to remember how good one is a month after they tested it.
It would be good to get classics to go too.

We probably need to sound less interested, someone's going to think about upping the price soon
Seriously though, someone has to be able to make this idea work. Question is why hasn't anyone done it before now (or am I missing some history here)
It's getting to sound quite a bit like a certain other idea that's held at Donnington, only much better.
Apparently the manufacturers pay a silly amount to do passenger rides there, and that's on top of the fee's for the respective stands.
BTW Matt, have you called Ultima yet?
