Hi Gary, that is a very nice project, have you thought about a 2 seater version? just wonder if you thought about supplying the powerplant to other manufactures interested in using your technology ? I'm sure a few might be interested.

I'm not convinced of the rear wheel steering syctem, but the Toyota I-Road is continuing it's development all the way to production.

Up till now I've not really been interested in doing a 2 seater version as personally I have yet to see a modern design which looks any good. I'm not ruling it out but the concept for the vehicle you see is very much a single seater. There's nothing hugely novel about the drivetrain and if it were to go into production a lot would be done differently but if you are interested in doing something, please PM me and we can talk.

This was conceived as a very lightweight EV trike, designed to exploit the L-class regulations and offer a really economical commuter style vehicle that also gives a very fun, pure driving experience. Unfortunately this thread proves that the demand for 3 wheelers is restricted to a few unhinged individuals and most people simply can't get past the fact that it's missing a wheel. The next step is to take the general architecture, add the "missing" wheel and turn it into a light weight EV (or hybrid) "sports" car. (Even if that concept will struggle to find acceptance for on here)

I'm aware af the L-Class regulations in EU and think that there is a potential for a new niche in EU, if things move forward towards Urban Electric or Neigborhood Vehicles or Quadricycles with limitations....

I like the idea of a lightweight Single Seater Vehicle and have worked on a few, but yours seems quite ready to me, to accept any body style, being that you have a monocoque chassis that would accept different styles and shapes.

I was thinking two seaters, because in mainland Europe, the niche market would be the older crowd,, maybe with licence limitations or other...

I like 4wheelers and a lightweight EV sportscar might be the perfect evolution, but I'm sure other options might work.

The steering system is fine as long as the speeds are low. Problems would arise in high speed emergency swerving. See this as a forerunner of a self driving urban taxi replacement in the next decade or so.

Possibly. There again possibly not.

Kit car magazines seek methods of attracting attention. Personally while I welcome all kit car ideas and enthusiasm for every possible reappraisal, the regeneration of the Peel clones has been mooted previously more than once. Unless there serious effort behind this froth I rather doubt the reality of such a project.

As yet I have enjoyied all manner of kit cars for over 50 years and no one has yet equalled the efforts of Lawrie Bond with his Berkeley three wheelers back in in the 1950's. He really has remained on his own as a volume producer. Never equalled, as yet never bettered. That would seem a far more worthwhile regeneration but sadly I supect even that is unlikely.

Post IVA kit cars are a much more demanding hobby. I am all for progress but I cannot see Peel copies returning. One make rebodies seems to me to be the real future as evidenced by the prodigious output of MEV and others in th field.

Having said that best of luck to the Peel emulators and I hope they succeed. But as I said above, it does seem unlikely to me.
