Den, I'll see what I can do Re the photo's

I can try and persuade the management that we're going out somewhere nice on sat afternoon and turn up at GTM factory " ooh look at that coincidence there a kit car company just where I was taking you for late lunch. The only problem with that is I'll have to buy lunch then. What's the pub grub like there

Not sure what it's like, but the nearest pub is all of about 150m from the factory.

Ferg has sent a group of pictures that would complement your words and with a couple more I’d have a ‘package’ to present to ‘Big Ed’.

Excellent, cheers both.

For future reference Den, how would you want photos delivered? Digital at about 300ppi or film prints / negs?

I agree with Meeja. Before I put this to ‘Big Ed’, I need an answer to a question.

Did you take photo’s? ‘Cos articles w/o photo’s are like mash w/o bangers.

Or Den without emoticons.....:

Emmm!I struggled. A clear case of emoticon block. I couldn’t think of an emoticon to go with ‘Big Ed’, ‘mash’ or ‘bangers’.

So, let me try again. . . . articles w/o photo’s are like a bun w/o a burger.

Digital appears to be the way things are going. Maximum resolution. The more the merrier.

Andy at Rover Breakers has a 143bhp (ex BRM200) engine in for £1100 inc all elec, ecu and gearbox.

If that's of any use to anyone.

'The Star' is just around the corner and very nice, but i think the 'Railway Inn' just over the crossroads on the road back down to Kegworth is better.

If people liked this, I'll perhaps make a few more factory visits, complete with camera this time, and go in meaning to write about it rather than just as a potential customer as I was this time. Crendon Replicas are just down the road so might make that my first port of call.

Anyone interested in an article and some pics about a Cobra replica?

Lexsport

I'd definately be interested in this for publication on Madabout-kitcars.com.

Will be starting an 'Articles' section on the site in the next couple of weeks so would be interested in any such write-ups that you do

Can't offer any financial reward i'm afraid but would obviously include full credit to you in the article (maybe even a mugshot )

I don't want to hijack your GTM article as it looks like Den will publish it but please keep in mind Madabout for any future ones you do.

Cheers John

John,

Thanks for the offer! I certainly will keep Madabout in mind in future. In fact, if there're any particular things you want covered, let me know. I need all the practice I can get!

Credit on the site would be great, not too sure about the mugshot idea though - don't want to put the punters off. I'm hoping that the more I get 'published' the more weight I'll have behind getting to do reviews of kit / production cars, etc.

No problem, Lex.
Just be careful that your jumper’s not too LOUD.

The broader your experience the better, and for what it’s worth I don’t see anything wrong with publishing an article in a magazine after its been on the web.

LOL No problems with that - black roll neck for me. It used to be the beard that was cause for concern, especially at only 24yo!

Sounds good to me. Two publications for the price of one.

John, drop me a mail to discuss putting it on Madabout if you're still interested.

Den, if I make any revisions to tidy it up, I'll mail them to you if you're still interested too.

Cool! I'll go take a look.

Not sure about the idea of more competition, though.

"This certainly seems to be a popular development at the moment with Lotus recently announcing Honda power for US market Elises"

Don't want to be too pedantic but as far as I know Lotus has actually chosen to use a 190hp VVTi Toyota engine for the US Elise and UK Exige.

You're absolutely right. Thanks for pointing out this error. Apologies to anyone that may have been mislead. I'll edit the article ASAP.
